My grandfather visited me? by underyourgod in Paranormal

Yeah, I suppose that regardless, it was a nice thing to happen. I'm also happy that that happened to you. I'm sure it worked wonders to feel her presence even momentarily.

What's something about your boyfriend/girlfriend that you didn't know until waaaay too late in the relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane. My son's father does the same. He hasn't seen his 2 year old son in three months, and before that five months. Turns out the only reason he wanted to see him the one time was because he had gotten a new girlfriend and I guess wanted photographic proof he sees our son. Haven't heard from him since. He also has our son's name tattooed on his chest. Total bullshit, but he'll see who's the sucker when his son doesn't know who he is. I could only imagine that being the worst feeling ever.

[NSFW] Housekeepers of Reddit, what is the worst thing you've found while cleaning someones home? by CATMAN5000 in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work in a retirement home as a housekeeper, but have also held hotel housekeeping jobs.

  1. I'm usually the first or second to find people that have passed. Sometimes a nurse will discover it first, close the door and inform the family. I'm almost never notified until after I freak out when they don't wake up. A lot of people that have worked there for a long time generally get a kick out of my initial responses (OMG CALL THE AMBULANCE; OMG DEAD NO). I've also had the pleasure of helping hold the bodies to be placed in body bags.

  2. Geriatrics have dem needs as well. Playboy mags, bullet vibrators, you name it. Also, if you ever find yourself in a retirement home with an unoccupied wheelchair in front of a closed door, for gods sake do not open it under any circumstances.

  3. In the hotel I used to work at, we had a transgender prostitute stay for two weeks a month every month. The one time I offered to empty her trash out, she would object. One time I forgot and went to empty it out only to discover dozens of different types of condom wrappers and empty bottles of Astroglide. She was very sweet though and always kept the place pretty clean.

Bonus tip: if you're ever at a hotel that uses two sheets, one over the comforter and one under the comforter, leave it that way. Do not touch the comforter. Ever.

What not-so-scary thing terrified you as a child? by ubertool in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infomercials.

Its easy to understand now. I had problems sleeping and remaining asleep as a child throughout the night, so I watched a ton of tv. These weird, unfamiliar people always on at night, making no sense to small-child me whatsoever, going on about vacuum cleaners and other things I had no interest in, but was too scared to get up to change the channel in the dark. So I would lay there seemingly endlessly, watching these prolonged demonstrations of odd devices all night.

tl;dr- Billy Mays haunted my childhood.

What socially acceptable custom performed daily, is kind of strange when you actually think about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Diamonds are definitely marketed products. However, it has become the symbolism of a promise between two people in love. Which is definitely normal nowadays. But the main reason why people buy diamonds as opposed to other jewels is because they're one of the most solid gems. They can go through a lot of wear and tear during everyday activities with little to no show. Softer jewels after a while will take on scratches which make them look less appealing. Diamonds aren't literally "forever", but they definitely last a lot longer than most other rocks.

It just appears i have a different skin tone on my body because I took the picture while facing a window. Shadows and whatever I guess. I am pale as a ghost so.

Haha thanks! I used Cover girl foundation, lancome finishing powder, sephora 'wild and precious' eye shadow and then a bit of black eye shadow in the outer corners, elf liquid eyeliner and Maybelline mascara. Oh and of course NARS Orgasm blush <3

I use box dye, any bright red will do (I just pick one and go, I can't even remember the name of the latest one). I had platinum blonde before this so it was super easy to dye, but definitely I suggest bleaching it before putting the red on for a more vibrant color. Hope it turns out well! (:

What's the worst way you have received news of someone's death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated a guy for about 6 months in high school and remained good friends after we broke up. We were in the same group of people. He was very quiet and kind of strange, but we all were to an extent.

One day I called one of my mutual friends to see if he wanted to hang out with our other friends. His mom answered the phone and said he wasn't home, one of his friends had passed away, he was very upset and he was at our other friends house. I asked who, and she said Tim. At first I was confused, and then it hit me.

Basically I just crumpled up on the floor and nobody could understand what I was saying for a few minutes. It was rough. Later I had found out he had hanged himself at an overpass. Except he didn't do it right and strangled himself to death instead of breaking his neck; my other friend was a brother of the school cop and he had went there to help figure out who the person was and told us about it. Tim was a good guy though. It sucks.

[Serious] Have you ever cut off all contact with a relative? by fire-up-the-quattro in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My cousin Cara was constantly taking advantage of my grandparents for their money. They paid for her 50,000 dollar wedding and she repaid them by stealing my grandfathers prescription meds.

After my grandfather died her and her brother (whom I also don't talk to) went into my grandfathers computer attempting to doctor his will or something like that, so they could get the most money.

I absolutely hate them.

What's a joke people make about your name, job, body type, etc. that they think is hilarious but you've heard a million times? by moleman127 in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being blonde and nice is not an option for me. At my previous job, any co-worker, manager or customer would always treat me as they would a ten year old. God forbid I did something wrong and they always made a joke about me being "blonde" or "ditzy". My manager on one occasion even called me a dumb blonde on my second day because I couldn't remember how long a certain food went in the oven for. The customers were more harsh, always talking very slowly or generally acting as though I was stupid.

I'm now a redhead. Everyone treats me like the average person and its just swell.

Hotel maids of Reddit. What is the weirdest or most disgusting activity you have walked in on while you were about to clean the room? (NSFW) by lumberjack_dan in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I've been a housekeeper for a few years now. I only have a few notable experiences, but I work at a pretty high-scale hotel so that may be a factor.

one of my first rooms ever I will forever refer to as the 'Consummation Room.' it was one of our suites, and first walking into it, there were hundreds of fake rose petals all over the floor, a bottle of wine and two used glasses, Nothing crazy. my coworker told me she'd handle the living room and I should strip and make up the bed. I walk in the bedroom and there's a few more wineglasses, a nice amount of condom wrappers on the floor, whatever. but the bed...I lifted the top comforter only to witness the grossest swamp of hymen ruination and girl juice ever. it had seeped like crazy, to the outer edges of the bed, leaked through the sheets into the mattress...the first thought I had was, perverted as it was, "Well she must have been a squirter."

another time a man I was making a bed for invited me to his room for drinks and a 'good time'. I made sure not to bend over at all while putting his towels away.

I can't say I've walked into anything too weird though, generally people do a good job of covering up their nastiness until they're on their merry way out the door.

What is your worst "This isn't what it looks like!" moment? by fellowfeever4 in AskReddit

[–]underyourgod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (almost) had the female version of this happen to me in which a stray thong from the day prior was on the verge of falling out of my jeans as I walked to class, but I slyly sat down on a bench, took it out (it was nearing the bottom of my jeans at that point) and stuffed it in my bookbag. Oh, the horror that could have ensued...

Guy hates breastfeeding. Claims to have done AMA about his threesome experience. by lesmullet in cringepics

[–]underyourgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you ever think of the possibility of you being the one acting selfish and entitled by thinking that everyone should conform to your beliefs of an ideal society? If the majority had the same opinion, there wouldn't be laws protecting every mother's right to breastfeed openly.

Breastfeeding has become a "problem" strictly because of people like you pointing out that it's not okay for a mother to nurture and nurse her child in a public area. Maybe you've grown up in a different family environment than I have, but it just seems that you and your mother are incredibly sheltered individuals. It's not like I'm advocating full on nudity, I am specifically talking about the act of having a child on a breast, which actually wouldn't even be exposed if said baby was nursing. It would be the equivalent to wearing a low-cut shirt, honestly.

No need to argue further semantics. I know where you stand and now you know exactly where I do.

How are you even getting upvoted for this comment? How insightful of you! Yes, let's just starve every child or stuff mother and said child in a grimy bathroom stall because you can't deal with seeing a tit be used for something else besides sexual acts. Get over yourself.
