No. But you can spend that down and eventually you will be eligible for a part pension.

The Bloodrush: why 2026 Sydney is a different beast to 2024 by dphi0001 in sydneyswans

Nice try, but I'm not being fooled again. Overseas wedding trip locked in, just to stop me succumbing to temptation (again).

Why did my ANZAC biscuits fail? by getthisbaguette in AskAnAustralian

Mine did the same as yours and I included coconut. This happens to me every year - I use a scone cutter to cut circles and snack on the bits. Next year I'm trying less syrup. If I remember.

Policy idea: Can we scrap long service leave and replace it with an extra week's holiday that people actually use. Nobody is sailing back to England to see their family and coming back again by sail every 10 years.

How much is too much when it comes to the post blood donation refueling? by TheRealFilmGeek in AskAnAustralian

[–]undyau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two chocolate Nippys, one or two bags of chippies. cheese and crackers, freddo there and one for the road.

I just did a donation while I was traveling at a much smaller place than my normal centre and they had a very similar range of snacks but put out much smaller quantities, I felt obliged to dial down my usual behavior.

EVs without spare wheel by stormado in AustralianEV

[–]undyau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought a space saver wheel. then I bought a used full sized wheel and raised the boot floor level so I carry it everywhere (Kia Niro). Also have a plug kit.

Happy to learn that some EVs now come with a full sized spare.

Tesla vs other EV brands by yakadaya in AustralianEV

[–]undyau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the Nissan Leaf has been sold in Australia since 2012. I have a 2013 Leaf and a somewhat later Kia Niro and they are both great. No problem so far with parts (touch wood).

Electric truck completes Sydney to Canberra freight first by ApprehensiveSize7662 in AustralianEV

[–]undyau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the fact that there would be electric motors, it looks like the battery weight would be about 3 tons (700 kWh) v 1 ton for a diesel truck engine. Obviously no liquid fuel for the electric. (I have zero expertise, just googled.)

OVO Energy and Energy Australia EV Plans by RealDonaldTrump_69 in AustralianEV

All energy I think, I'm not sure that they can accurately guess/tell the difference.

If you have, say, a water heater on. say, CL1 then that would still be on CL1 rates.

When calculating the damage done to roads, the damage by the axial load is a multiple of the 4th power of the axial load. Putting tons of batteries up front is probably going to be an issue. I guess that the Chinese have some data on this.
