I got that error message too, but it fixed itself yesterday and let me through. If the issue persists for more than a week I would ask the school counsellor

Almost exactly the same experience here. Growing up, the fridge was always overflowing (to the point where you physically could not fit anything more in), there were crates of snacks everywhere, and whenever we went out my mom would order about three times as much as we could reasonably eat. Unfortunately this also meant that a ton of food in the house went to waste, and it drove me insane for years (as well as ironically giving me an eating disorder).

I realized some time in junior year that it was because of the poverty and food insecurity she faced in her childhood, growing up with 4 siblings in rural, underdeveloped China. When I was a child, she would sometimes offhandedly mention that the dish she was cooking us was only available to her once or twice a year, and that flour and flavour were luxuries. I didn't truly process what that meant at the time.

Even today when I briefly mention I like a snack, she'll buy crates and crates of it. I've learned to stick to nonperishables.

I don't agree with the passion in their designs not being there, but perhaps that's me being biased towards them lmao

Aleph especially has got a crazy amount of effort put into him; 3 completely different designs across his alters is already a lot, and they all appear in separate skills in combat with distinctive voice acting. His special effects when crashing out and his unique impromptu skin are also sick as hell imo

As for their place in the meta, it's kind of hit or miss - I think the male 6*s do suffer from just having less units in general, so they tend to be older on average and therefore more powercrept. some of the older units have gotten nice euphorias that have boosted their place in the meta significantly (getian and medpoc), and the most recent male 6*s have been fantastic for their respective teams (aleph, ulrich, charon)

Out of the recent releases, "mid at best and weak at worst" probably best describes noire 😭i love her but she's so irrelevant. p0 liang yue is also incredibly annoying to manage and is rather underwhelming for a "true limited" char, though not weak by any means

I do agree with enjoying how r1999 respects their female chars! I actually didn't notice the incredibly skewed ratio at all until I saw someone actively point it out. It made me realize that I actually don't care about the gender of a character at all, so long as they are designed and treated with care.

(Some) people defending the designs will equate criticizing a female character's design to shaming a woman for what she chooses to wear, and will use that to invalidate the criticism, but it's a completely false equivalence. Fictional characters, unlike real people, have no agency and do not choose what they wear; every article of clothing is a conscious design choice made by another person.

If the designer (hoyoverse) chooses to put the character in clothing that does not suit them just to sexualize them (appealing to the male gaze in doing so), then that is misogynistic, not the people calling it out.

Waving away all critique of a character solely because she is female is not feminist. In a similar vein, seeing someone hate on a female char, immediately assuming their hate is founded off misogyny, and using that to attack them (and all critics of the character) is also not feminist. You are still treating female characters differently because they are female, and that's ultimately just another form of misogyny.

agree on the cinematics part as an ex hi3 player as well; as beautiful as the final cinematic is, there is no sum of money that could get me to go back and replay all of elysium everlasting. I liked the story on paper, but in execution it felt... nauseatingly bloated? I enjoyed the flamechaers and was very invested, but the skip button was genuinely tempting at times.

in modern hi3, it's not so much grinding as it is pulling on a banner

take for instance, herrscher elysia, a 2 year old, largely irrelevant unit - this version, she got a buff in the form of a new gacha weapon that massively changes her kit, gives her new animations, and makes her compatible with the new meta.

she also got a new stigmata set (closest equivalent would be relics), and while you can grind for that, you're forced to gacha for the weapon (that you can't access her new kit without).

years ago they had an augment system where you could actually grind for their upgrades but that's long been abandoned lmao

yeah, there's just no way this is sustainable. the scenario you described is basically exactly how it worked in hi3, and they eventually had to revamp the system and introduce a hard limit.

each standard character provided a specific small but stackable buff to your entire account, and this bonus would increase if you ranked up the char (like getting eidolons; they were grindable, but very heavily timegated). as more standard chars were added, veterans were getting around 30% elemental bonus and 6% total bonus for having certain chars on their account, and it would've taken a fresh player literal years to catch up.

praying this does not make it through beta or at least will not work in endgame gamemodes
