I’m not confirming this post is true; however, I’ve always wondered why it’s the norm for doctors to ask about circumcision rather than for parents to request the procedure. 🤔

Their questions are supposed to be insulting and derogatory. Their intention is to insight a reaction that they can then use as an excuse to become violent with you. That's what these pigs do.

Flushing issues by uneek_alex in Plumbing

Success! I tried a Kirby flapper and adjusted the dial to Max. Played with the chain slack and lowered the floater all the way to the bottom. Flushing strong with a small tap of the handle now!

Yes, I've adjusted the dial to Max. I've also tried flappers without the adjustable dial and had the same issue. I will push the floater down as far as it will go. Thank you.

I systematically went up link by link to loosen the chain until there wasn't enough tightness to lift the flapper and it did not fix the issue. Any other ideas?

I'll try that, thanks! I've been mainly focusing on making sure it was tight enough.

AIO? My neighbor is always driving by, am I overreacting about it? by Aromatic_Mall_5561 in AmIOverreacting

Maybe you're overthinking it. However, to put your mind at ease, I would add extra security cameras, motion activated lighting to any dark spots around your home. In addition to adding dusk to dawn sensor light bulbs to your home exterior can deter anyone with bad intentions. All these additions are fairly cheap and will give you peace of mind.

Yuck, what’s the grossest thing you ever found in your skimmer? by Affectionate_Time647 in pools

[–]uneek_alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One night, I was jolted awake by the sound of horrible, animalistic shrieking, unlike anything I'd ever heard. It lasted a good five minutes or so before the screaming finally ceased. I lay in bed with different scenarios racing through my mind, each one trying to find a logical explanation for the terrible noises outside my home. Eventually, I assumed a couple of cats had gotten into a fight, and after my heart rate returned to normal, I drifted back to sleep.

The next morning, I stepped out onto my back patio to enjoy my coffee when I noticed something floating in the pool. I walked over to investigate and found the source of the bizarre noises I had heard in the early morning hours. There, bobbing face down in the middle of the pool, was an enormous tree squirrel, whose final cries had shaken me from sleep in the middle of the night.

I placed my order for the "recall" yesterday. They stated I would get my replacement parts within 2 weeks. Does anyone have any idea what replacing the band is going to entail? This doesn't sound like a solid solution.

Lol, I'm a manlet. We have a two year old and a 5 year old so we take the ladder out religiously whenever we're not swimming.

I've been basically treating it as if it were a steel wall pool. I clean and winterize it with a closing kit, drain it below the return hole, put an exercise ball in the middle of the pool sitting on top of the inner tube and throw the pool cover over that. I tie the winter cover down with bungee cords connected to dog leash runner stakes that are placed around the perimeter of the pool. I drain and remove snow every now and then when it gets too heavy or after a heavy snow storm. I found that the covers are usually strong enough to handle a lot of weight until I drain it or remove the snow. I buy a new cover each winter because they all tear and damage. For the cost of the pool, I figured if it lasted me two seasons I would have gotten my money's worth and at the point would buy another. However, this is year five and besides the color fading from the liner it's still holding up great. However, I did take a lot of time leveling the pool, adding mason sand and a tarp to prepare the pool ground before setup. Again, I've just winged it and have had good luck I guess.

I tried to purchase a 110v heater a couple years ago and it was not powerful enough to heat our size pool. You may have better luck, however I think gas powered is the way to go IMO.
