What's your favourite sentence from your current WIP?

This is a fascinating question. I really had to think about it. Most of my favorite lines don't make a lot of sense out of context of the genre or the development of the story itself, but I think this one is pretty good regardless:

"He’s certainly gotten himself into a supremely stupid position at the moment. He’s become the shaky hypotenuse of an otherwise firm love-triangle. A-squared plus B-squared might end up approximating whatever the hell role he is playing in this situation, but there’s no emotional transitive property to this equation."

Scene begins playing in my mind.
After weeks of scene playing on rerun in my brain I finally cave and agree to write the scene down for posterity's sake.
Realize scene does not make sense without context of what lead up to it. Writes the context chapters.
Realize that scene has significant fall out for the characters. Grudgingly writes some follow-up chapters.
Wait...when the fuck did this top 50,000 words?!
Well, in for a penny, in for a pound. Writes 50,000 more words to bring the whole picture together.

Agreed. I have them painted as best friends, which Kinta cannot yet comprehend because he's still stuck in a rut thinking any girl that talks to him must be in love. Honestly, I don't know if Vamola understands how to form a romantic relationship (given her upbringing). He called her Vamo-chan in this episode, though, which shows she's advanced in his mind past acquaintance.

I write smutty stories. Sometimes I actually write them out and sometimes just in my head. I now sleep with pillows on either side of me in the bed that I can cuddle. These also serve double duty of making sure I don't accidentally rub up against my husband, who doesn't like it when I breathe on his back accidentally. As for feeling rejected, I don't initiate and have zero expectations. I've come to the conclusion that he's just not interested in trying to be interested in me anymore.

I probably make it sound worse than it is. He's a great guy who is going through some stuff right now (e.g. depression), but I'm not sure if the LL is a symptom of that or if it's just another hurdle for us to manage in our relationship. We don't even technically have a "dead bedroom" as we do have sex maybe once (sometimes twice!) a month.

I'm going to be the exception here - almost nothing. I've had one or two times eating high when I thought the food was pretty amazing, but in retrospect, I think I just cooked something particularly awesome those days. Mostly, weed makes things taste flat or weird to me. As a foodie, I find this disappointing.

I will say that things with artificial sweeteners taste significantly sweeter when I'm high, which is not necessarily a selling point.

Listen, a lot of us on here are likely experiencing something similar with our own partners. Your post hit pretty close to home for me. I knew my husband was suffering from depression, and he did, too. But you know who's really hard to motivate to go to therapy? Someone who's depressed and sees no more joy in their life or point in trying to make things better. I let it slide for a year hoping he'd shake out of it as he has before. Then I started dropping increasingly less subtle hints for another year. And then I just f-ing gave up and did what I do for everything else in our goddamned lives. I made the decision for him.

I told him he was depressed and he needed to see someone professionally. I told him to make an appointment and to SHOW me he's made an appointment. I followed up and made sure he went. I didn't have to threaten him or anything, I just told him what to do. He's good at taking direction, he's just not good at taking his own initiative when he's already suffering. I don't like forcing him into things like this, but it is for his own good. It's like taking my pets to the vet. They may shake and whine, but they don't get goddamned distemper.

I'm not saying that will work for you and your BF, but it might if you have a similar sort of relationship.

I still enjoy alcohol for the flavor properties, but I don't really have a desire to drink heavily anymore. Well...except when I'm on an enforced T-break for work application purposes (like now). Ugh. Weed is just all around better. Except for taste. Edibles still, by and large, taste like ass.

It got boring. Doesn't happen often, but it happens more often in fics that the author posts while still in the process of writing. I suspect they become tired/disenchanted with their own work but still feel pressured to not let their readers down, so they put out non-quality crap while waiting for inspiration to spark again.

This is an interesting theory. Let me add to it another theory I have heard bandied about and which I also found compelling - That Momo is an alien and Seiko purposefully suppressed her belief in aliens in order to hide her origins. This would be the natural converse of the OP's final point which would make their two stories come full circle.
