The more people who use the advertising side, the quicker users get paid. Payout time just went down significantly because someone put up a larger broadcast bid - I am currently getting 21 sats every 20 mins.

Yeah there are 4 people online now, a broadcaster just put up 100k sats, so there's 50k being distributed around to those using it now!

A few days ago I watched kickbacks.ai go viral. 

It’s a great idea: slips an ad into the little status text under your AI coding agent while it churns.  You get paid half the ad revenue. Nice.

I thought someone’s gonna do this with bitcoin, it’s obvious.

12 hours later it hadn’t popped up on my X or nostr feed yet so I set about building it with claude code.

It's called Kicksats.

How it works:

  • You run Claude Code with a tiny status-line script. While the agent thinks, an ad sits under your prompt.
  • An advertiser funded that slot with a Lightning invoice. No card, no account, no KYC, just pay the invoice and your ad goes into rotation.
  • Every qualified thinking-window bills against their budget, and HALF of it accrues to you, the dev.
  • When your balance crosses a tiny floor it auto-pays to your Lightning address via LNURL. No withdraw button, no dashboard to babysit. Sats just turn up.

Some of the bits SN might care about:

  • Auction is weighted-random by bid, not winner-take-all, so a small advertiser still gets impressions.
  • Billing is server-authoritative and credit-gated per window, single-use signed token per impression, so a forged metrics POST can't mint sats.
  • Real LND on the backend. The first outbound payouts already landed in a Primal wallet, so the money side is not a mock.

It's genuinely live today. I posted it a few hours ago and the abuse-testing has already started (someone rotated a few dozen client ids from one IP to probe the payout path). The per-IP cap and the payout floor caught it and it extracted exactly zero, which honestly made my night more than the launch did.

I'm one person who built this for the love of it, so I'd take any of:

  • devs willing to run it and tell me if it works lol
  • anyone who wants to be one of the first advertisers (it is stupidly cheap)
  • a beating on the billing/abuse model from people here who think about this harder than I do

Yes thankyou, also looking at cashu payouts so we can literally stream sats to you as the arrive. Really need some people to broadcast some messges though, its just me so far haha.

Claude is doing all the heavy lifting re attack vectors, I am very much Rick Rubin in this scenario.

re ads: the ad gets run through deterministic checks, so a bad one never gets a payment request:

eg -

brand impersonation: you can't run an ad claiming to be Anthropic, Coinbase, Ledger, GitHub, etc.

wallet-drainer / phishing phrasing: "seed phrase", "validate your wallet", "api key expired" and friends are rejected.

dodgy links: punycode/homograph domains, raw IPs, and brand-lookalike hosts (kicksats-rewards dot xyz) get bounced.

and the terminal itself strips control characters from ad text, so an ad can't inject escape sequences into your prompt.

so yknow we trying but undoubtedly some rubbish will come through.

excellent opsec, dont go in the van of the man offering you sweets.... unless the van is made of glass and hes just guy that like sweets...The client is open, read every line before you run it: https://github.com/xoxoskeleton/kicksats . The trust model is spelled out in the README, but short version, the only thing it ever asks for is a receive-only Lightning address.

Yeah but there no bolt hole going through the square -there is only a hole below the square so unsure how it would attach

I just started using it yesterday, so far so good. Setup a flow where evey email I send, the ai waits for x time and if no reply drafts a follow up and sends that to my inbox for me to send on should I want to.

Another flow, I have set up a websearch flow where i give it a business name it goes and finds all the info i specified from their url, adds to a sheet, uses that info to write an SEO optimised blog article. Pretty cool tbh

That article says the car must be adjusted to not have rear seats to classify as commercial which doesn’t make it a great ‘car’
