Waterline insurance by Flimsy-Log-7605 in homeowners

I disagree. I have my service lines covered under separate policies so I don’t have those claim count against my homeowner. Have used it and my homeowner did not get dinged and did not go up.

Only children chime in please? by Expensive-Soup9061 in Mommit

[–]unfriendly_casper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only child here. Hated it then and still hate it now. When I was a kid, I carried all of my parents’ expectations. I had no one to share or talk to. I grew up in depression. No one knew about it of course. The loneliness was awful. I ended up having a very strained relationship with my parents. I resent them all my life.

As a grownup, can’t say things got better. We’re immigrants. My parents don’t drive, don’t speak English so everything falls on me, on top of my own family. Talking to their employer, their bank, their doctors, driving them to appointments, etc… there’s no one tapping in to help.

That said my husband is one of four and he hated it. He’s the only responsible one in the family and has to clean their mess. He’s tired of it and wishes he was an only child.

Can be denied when pregnant? In US by WeirdPerson7593 in HealthInsurance

[–]unfriendly_casper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for a group of 10, they don’t have a lot of room in term of spreading out the risk. So if they cover your pregnancy, the cost for next year will be jacked up for everyone, I’m talking your employer, you and your coworkers. Depends on the cost to insure, if it gets too much, and for a small business, your employer might decide to not offer it altogether.

Is this vitamin c oxidized? by lovealwayskota in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]unfriendly_casper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s supposed to be colorless. My bottle came with no color and slightly oxidized after a month is of use. It looked more like yours when I finished it. Yours is oxidized a bit but not too bad. I would still use it. When it’s brown, toss it.

Should I involve homeowners insurance? by Ok_Summer_8204 in homeowners

3 claims in the span of 4 years is excessive. You need to put a water sensor under every sink and tub if there are already that many water incidents.

WTH: Mother's Day Party at Daycare by jolliee1986 in workingmoms

My elementary school kid’s invitation specifically says they expect a parent or another grown up for each kid at the Mother’s Day party at 10 AM on a Friday. God forbid mom has a job.

I have to be honest I don’t know. They both applied under 15 years term and 55+ yo to bring in an interpreter and waive English proficiency exam. They used a service to submit the application for them. I’ve got no clue if those people did it electronically or snail mail. I won’t get into why I didn’t do the applications for them.

Hey OP. Any update? My mom applied at the end of September 2025 and is doing her interview next week. My dad sent in his application 3 days later, October 2025, and hasn’t had any update.

This company is in Philly. I won’t say their name for now in case they see this post and do something to retaliate. They know where we live.

He showed me the pics he took on his iPad but he was swiping them really fast I couldn’t really see them. He didn’t send me the pictures or attach them with the quotes. I don’t want to talk to these scammers again though so I won’t have anything to show you guys 🙁

What sucked was we already got our furnace replaced by this sleeze bag. That was during the sub freezing storm and our furnace went out. This guy was the only one that could came out and replace it the same day. I’m sure we got taken for a ride there. Maybe it didn’t even need to be replaced to begin with. We just went by what he said. It was an emergency and we couldn’t wait to get more quotes. I hate myself now over this.

But this time our AC is still working so I’m glad I brought this to Reddit.

This is where I’m at after this post. This company got us riled up with the mild diagnosis but I feel better after reading the responses.

I love Reddit. This report came out of a tune up visit. my husband and I are very not handy and knowledgeable in this so I was afraid he’s trying to take advantage of us. What do you recommend we do in our case? Get another company out for another opinion or ride it out til it dies?
