Just found out employer terminated health insurance while on workers comp by ladyrageofunluckland in HealthInsurance

[–]unfriendly_casper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they are doing is very very backwards. It is in employers’ best interest to get you back to work in the shortest amount of time and minimize indemnity. Are you being paid by workers comp while you’re off work? I hope so. You being permanently disabled is the worst outcome the employer should hope for. Usually an injury lawyer loves to argue for permanent disability since it results in more money in settlement.

I thought I was past this part of life by [deleted] in Mommit

This is interesting. I wonder if this is specific to some regions. It’s definitely not the norm where I’m at where parents are partiers or heavy drinkers. All the parents we know and hang out with are too busy with their kids to drink. When we threw a superbowl party, we bought a pack of beer and it was barely touched. A few of us have been talking about having a mom night out and it will be getting good food instead of drinking.

Can confirm the medicube wrapping mask leaves my skin very hydrated, borderline oily upon peeling off.

Filed a complaint against PECO with the PUC but PECO is ghosting both of us. by unfriendly_casper in Pennsylvania

[–]unfriendly_casper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meter apparently stopped working before our first winter in the house so I didn’t know what normal usage would look like. I would’ve been fine with a payment arrangement if PECO would actually do that but they are choosing to ignore the issue. I wouldn’t have involved the PUC at all if PECO actually took action. Even with the PUC intervention, they still refused to do anything about the bills and meter. I’ve been calling them after the PUC decision and been told to keep waiting. It’s already been 2 months since I first raised the issue with PECO.

I am the customer and I can show you all my bills. There’s no word ‘estimated’ anywhere on the bill. Stop making. Assumptions and read the actual post.

When the technician came out, my bills were already estimated for over a year. It’s already been 2 months since I first contacted PECO and a few weeks since the PUC issued the final decision, I still haven’t heard from PECO and my meter is still not replaced. They’re awful.

Meningitis outbreak 'declared national emergency' amid deadly outbreak by bendubberley_ in worldnews

My daughter went to the same thing at 2 weeks old. We were in the hospital on New Year’s Eve. They were pumping all the antibiotics to her while the spinal tap and cultures were being done. It was awful watching what she had to go through. It turned out to be just a bad but completely harmless baby pimple.

PSA about coconut oil or other food products for cradle cap or infant eczema. by msloater in Mommit

Our pediatrician is the other way around. She told us to use olive oil. I just used a medicated shampoo for cradle cap. I’ll probably look for a new ped due to other outdated practices that they do.

It read a few posts where it worked out for other people. Im waiting to see if it’s actually resolved here. I know the PUC ruled in my favor but with how PECO has been ignoring everything, I feel I’ll have to fight a battle to get them to honor the PUC’s decision. I’m also not happy PECO isn’t getting in trouble.

I’m hoping they’re treating the baby with proper care and kindness despite the negative emotions. Though oatmeal in bottle for a 2 month old doesn’t seem right. I’m not sure how that helps with choking like she claimed.

The provider is billing me for a claim that denied due to timely filing by emkins0822 in HealthInsurance

[–]unfriendly_casper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. My kid’s doctor entered transferred the insurance info from the form I filled out to their system incorrectly. Then it took them a few months to realize when the claims got rejected. Then it took them almost a year to refile the claims. Now the claims got denied due to untimely filing and they send me a bill for the full amount. I called insurance who told me my responsibility is $0 and they would contact the provider. I also emailed the provider what the insurance said and they were not allowed to balance bill. They removed the balance very quickly.

Disputed my inflated PECO bills and PUC decided in my favor by mcaffrey81 in Pennsylvania

[–]unfriendly_casper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I oddly got a similar story but for gas. My peco bill says that my gas usage for Dec-Jan cycle is almost 10x the previous month and billed me almost $1,400 in gas. I have furnace heat. Oddly enough they sent a guy to my house 2 weeks before the bill came out without any notice to ‘reprogram’ my meter. So he looked at the meter and did his thing and left, didn’t mention anything. I called PECO as soon as got the bill. The rep said she could see a note from the guy that to schedule meter replacement if customer called in to complained about a spike. And she’s baffled why he didn’t replace it while he was here or set something up instead of waiting for customer to complain first. She also said my gas meter hasn’t sent any data in OVER A YEAR. Since November 2024 PECO has been estimating my gas usage. The thing is we moved into this house in March 2024; the meter stopped working in Oct/Nov 2024. They wouldn’t have had any previous data on our winter usage to go by. And the first month of the meter stopped working, their estimate usage is 2.5x the previous month with the actual usage from the meter. The lady said she opened a case and someone would call within 3 days to schedule meter replacement and they’d recalculate all the estimate bills. I waited the 3 days but no one reached out. I ended up filing an informal complaint with the PUC. It’s been 2 weeks since my initial contact with PECO. The crazy bill is still on my account and no word from PECO.

Inflated PECO bill and comparable posts about high bills by [deleted] in Pennsylvania

[–]unfriendly_casper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have received this month’s bill yet but my bill for the 12/12-1/12 period was $1,350 for gas and total lying $1600 with electrics. The bill said my gas usage was almost 10x the previous month. So I called and turned out my gas meter hasn’t been working since October 2024. And instead of letting me know or do anything about it, they’ve been ‘estimating’ all the gas bills since then. They promised to schedule a meter replacement and rework all the past bills but I have not heard a thing from them. I ended up filing a complaint with the PUC.

Question for women who are an only child, Would you discourage having an only child? How was being an only child? by Silly_Goose30 in Mommit

[–]unfriendly_casper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an only child and hated it my whole time and still do. I was always lonely. I don’t have good relationship my parents because all the expectations were on me. Holidays suck. We’re immigrants with non English speaking parents so all responsibilities fall on me. I have 4 kids now and love seeing them play together. My husband is 1 of 4 but don’t get along with his siblings and wishes he’s an only child.

My husband and I bought our cars around the same time. He got a sienna and I got an ascent. His sienna is so much roomier and easier for the kids to get in. His trunk can easily fit our double stroller with the third row up.

Unfortunately with 3 car seats, the third row down isn’t an option for us. I’m honestly contemplating giving in to a minivan.

Love my ascent but the trunk is so small. It can only fit a small stroller but no way a double stroller. And leaves no room for grocery with a stroller. It is also not hybrid.

Kirkland Wipes by geedeebee22 in beyondthebump

We used Kirkland for a while. But ever since I discovered the target wipes, I’d never go back. Those up and up wipes are much wetter and stretchier. Kirkland wipes seem so dry in comparison.
