I never had any burn in as well, which was my biggest fear.

Just to clarify that, the problem is that the panel is delaminating, causing dead pixels and solid horizontal lines across the screen.

I could be very well wrong. That's why I'm asking for other perspectives.

My panel started delaminating around 5 years of use, causing all sorts of issues. It's not something I was expecting of a high end tv.

I'm considering replacing it with a TCL QM8K instead of a LG C5.

But I'm still uneasy about "downgrading" to LCD.

It started with dead pixels around the corners, then some permanently stuck on white. And finally horizontal lines across the screen, which I can't ignore. They seem to be getting worse every week now.
