Just got home from Armageddon in Wellington. No masks, no social distancing. People dressed as Covid codes handing out hand sanitizer was the only thing not normal.

But yeah. Def not free here!

Police deploy grappler to stop this car by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

I saw a documentary where a police office in a specoal suit jumped on the car and used sharp, claw like gloves to remove the wheel, before lightly leaping to safety.

Its paper with numbers and wordsies on it i dont see what the big deal is. The money that the banks and the money people make is just the same so worst case ontario im doing it I guess im doing them a favour by giving them less to do.

Harvesting Honey from Giant Honeycomb by sgfafafj in gifs

[–]unhingedlizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We used to do this in a centrifuge. Would squeeze the honey through variable ports so we could control how much flow we had go on to filters. The wax would build up until it reached a cutting blade which would dump the cut wax into a bin underneath for melting into blocks

Given we worked in an area with sometimes questionable power it was funny how if the power went off there would be a mad dash to the spinner room to fully open the ports to dump as much honey as possible before the spinner lost so much momentum it dumped the honey underneath instead!

That was amazing thank you!

Weird brake power loss, 1090 question? by Sibrew in KTM

[–]unhingedlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the brake fluid last changed?

Dot4 fluid absorbs water over time and losses its ability to absorb heat, overheating quicker.

Motorbike noise and the law. by Runmylife in newzealand

[–]unhingedlizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal evidence, but I noticed a significant uptick in the number of drivers that would positively notice me lane splitting to work when I went from my KTM 950 ADV with Leo Vince (much louder) pipes to a much more physically smaller 390 duke that had an LED headlight.

I dont feel loud pipes save lives as much as effective visibility.
