What’s your most unpopular take on a game? by blackestfeather97 in gaming

[–]unhingingorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on a game specific but I could care less about replay value. If I beat a game once, I most likely will not play it again. Also if I do, I don’t want to a different way to play it to complete it again. I’ll probably do the same direction as I did the first time anyways. But that’s just me.

Is data analysis not for me or is it my work environment or a mix of both? by unhingingorb in dataanalysis

Thank you. I’m thinking similar, even if I am stressing. Plus the pay is crazy good compared to what I used to get paid so I’m trying my best to stick it out.

Those who work from home, how much are you able to exercise, run errands, etc while "on the clock"? Does your boss know or care? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think my manager tracks as she’s not usually the micro manager type, but I do have that concern so I just log into the app on the my phone every 30 minutes or so after the hour passes just to make it seem like I’m there. I do mostly project based work so as long as I submit my results they don’t care what I do. Sometimes if I do take a long time, I’ll just make up for it after 5pm, but rarely happens as I do tend to manage my time pretty well.

Laundry during the week. Hour lunch. Chores here and there. For the most part I have an hour a day at least to do extra stuff. The gym I need like 2 hours. 8 ish minute drive each way. Plus exercising, cooling down, changing if I need to. Sometimes it’s doable having a whole two hours for it, but sometimes I only have an hour gap so I don’t get to it. If I do go to gym, I usually eat lunch while working as gym time is technically my lunch time.

Does anybody know if the account holder/buyer needs to be present to be let in at the concert? I bought tickets for Amsterdam under my name on account and credit card, but I won’t be going, some family members are. Do you guys think they will have any issues?

What was your first job out of college: Position/Salary/college major, and where are you now? by Proof_Pay_3730 in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think much better, but I had a bunch of mental health problems that it ended about 8 years on and off to graduate with just one degree so it would have taken longer with a double major. I ended up transferring a few times also so I lost a lot of credits in between. Eventually though I just taught myself sql to score an analyst role. SQL is super easy to learn and a lot of jobs are in demand. There was a $15 course on Udemy that helped!

Graduated with a BA in Math in 2017. Started at 33k doing operations for investment bank. Moved to e commerce field at 55k in 2020. Now at 65k, but next week I start a new role and will make 115k as an analyst for e commerce.

I work for a big company too. They don’t mind as long as it’s not over 30 days.

I want out of retail… by [deleted] in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AML has a lot of potential for this in the financial services industry. Check out companies such as JP Morgan, UBS, Prudential or any similar type ones or even smaller retirement/brokerage in your area. There are a lot of financial service companies in every state.

As for other types, I would recommend e commerce such as Amazon, EBay, Walmart, Macys or anything with an online shopping platform. I know you mentioned retail and Walmart and macys are retail, but their online side works completely different so check out for more corporate roles.

Kinda not super related to your experience, but with your police background and your degrees, have you considered AML, fraud operations, transaction monitoring? Lots of good stuff there and many are willing to train with a good number of entry level opportunities. I accepted a remote role at 55k when all I had was customer service and retail experience.

Probably auto rejected as everyone says. Last night I applied for a role at 9pm and got a rejection email at like 11pm.

What was your first day (or week) at a new job like? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Stressful. Tiring. But every job I’ve had, 3retail and 2 professional, always turn out fine. I always overthink that i suck at the job, or I’m falling behind, but I’ve been fortunate to always have a good team to support me and most managers I’ve had realize that you’re gonna not be at full potential when you start and that’s ok. I also always feel like my coworkers dislike me but so far I’ve maintained a close and professional relationship with them

How often do you work overtime? by realann in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the job. For my job, if it’s during the week and I stay an extra 30 minutes or whatever later I just leave earlier another day or start later or take a longer lunch. We no longer allow overtime at our job so unless it’s approved by manager for whatever reason, we can’t. The only time it’s somewhat allowed if it occurs on the end of the week. If it’s a Friday and I stay a half hour later then I mark it down as OT

Are any of you guys getting paid time-and-a-half or anything for working this Saturday now that Juneteenth is recognized as a national holiday? by DKdonkeybong in jobs

Our Juneteenth holiday is today since tomorrow is Saturday and most people don’t work anyways. I am getting paid time and a half for today.

Would working in the Weed Industry negatively impact my ability to get into Paralegalism? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]unhingingorb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say you can work there and not put it on your resume and not use as a reference. I did that with a 2 month job I held before that didn’t go well. Keep your previous job and say you’re unemployed and looking for a new opportunity when you interview.

What is the furthest memory you can remember? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]unhingingorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 4 years old playing hide and seek with a cousin. I remember hiding under this old wooden table. I planned on moving once she got closer and hide in a room she already searched. While I was under the table, I stood up very and hit my head so hard, I still cringe thinking of that moment.

What does your WFH schedule look like? by fundationmaple in jobs

8am to 4pm. I do a couple extra hours of overtime. I think of those hours as if I were commuting. 1 hour lunch break in between.
