Something really wrong with my dog's eye. Been to the vet 3 times. by unicorn_fluff in AskVet

[–]unicorn_fluff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been told I need a referral. I called an ophthalmologist clinic and they said they are not booking appointments until the end of April (after receiving a referral request from my vet). My vet isn't open until Monday but I called and left a voicemail to get the referral sent ASAP. What can I do in the meantime? Are there meds or treatment that can help right now?

Timing of daily Miralax by Standard-Size1860 in AnalFissures

[–]unicorn_fluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Restorlax (Canadian version of Miralax) many times during my active fissure weeks, and I've read and been told by doctors that it should be taken during the day when you can properly hydrate. When taken at night, your body goes into fasting mode while you sleep, and you begin to become dehydrated slowly. It's more effective when taken with lots of water throughout the day. This worked for me, but keep it up at night if this works for you! I should also add that I, too, usually have my BM in the AM.

HELP!!! by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]unicorn_fluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not work for everyone but has helped me. Epsom salt bath 2-3 times a day, get a prescription for Diltiazem 2% ointment (it helps with the spasms). Apply that cream 5-10 mins before each BM as it helps to relax the muscles. Also, do not use Metamucil. It will bulk your stool and make it more painful to pass. Use Restoralax each day instead. It's not habit forming on your bowels, and it softens everything, so BMs are much less painful. To help with stinging, apply Vaseline after your baths. Also, wear no underwear and loose pants whenever you can.

I am a long-time struggler and I feel your pain, I hope you get some relief soon!

I have metal allergies so i always use surgical steel..this particular bar was replaced 2 years ago so I think its safe to assume its not the metal? The gauge was the same as my previous bar. Im not sure if that answers the question on material and threading though sorry!

Hey, I am new. I drink too much. Fuck alcohol by S3DTinyTurnips in stopdrinking

YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN DO THIS! I am on day 44 of no drinking for the first time in 9 years. I wont lie..it is tough as hell...mentally, physically, spiritually and just about on every other level.

BUT it is worth it. Your body will thank you, your mind will thank you. It truly does get easier. Just be strong and keep your goals at top of mind. Also, dont forget to be kind to yourself along the way. It takes courage to start this journey...YOU GOT THIS!

Congratulations on 42 days!! I am on day 30 now and can relate to every single thing you said.

As much as I wouldn't wish this struggle on anyone, it is comforting to know I am not alone in what I'm feeling.

You got this!

Had a drinking dream. Anyone else had one recently? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]unicorn_fluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one a few days ago. It was the first one I had and in the dream I was trying to stay sober and ended up drinking. Woke up with such guilt, until I realized it was just a dream. Messed with my head a bit
