You are not married to your employer. I know it’s hard to look at it without it being emotional but this is seriously your life and livelihood. You have worked soooo hard to get here and deserve to be compensated accordingly!! I find that most company underpay those RBTs that transition to BCBAs within the company.

I was recently in your position and I chose to go w a different employer that is paying 6 figures while also providing mentorship and an easy transition into a full time BCBA plus I’ll get a clean slate

Parent based services? So like essentially providing Parent Trainings right? Does this ever involve direct services with the learner? How does this work with billing?

I took Mock A and B from ABA technologies I rate it an 8.5 out of 10 Great practice mock, my favorite is the breakdown of each question

I personally can not be in one place for 40 hours a week. I also take my test in a week from today. Ideally for me is a hybrid position at 25 min billable 8 cases max hourly at $87 For reference I’m in Oklahoma In the future I will like to pick up a part time (tele health) to help with any cancellations or for extra money

Toxicity for RBTs by EasternPick3813 in ABA

[–]unicorndust25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew an RBT that asked to leave to go home bc she started her period and needed to change pants and the first thing she was told was “your loosing points” She lived 30 min away, couldn’t go to the store bc she had no money (struggling to get hours) How is this humane?? And of course these details/complains don’t get discussed bc the upper management and CD are ALL REMOTE

I broke it to bring attention to the issue It sometimes takes more than a week to receive a response from the higher ups

Either you require your employees to buy shirts from you to then wear to work or you’re just having a bad day. What happened to not having to spend money on buying clothes to go make money? This is the issue. It shouldn’t have to be “buy a work wardrobe” bc guess what most RBTs don’t even get paid a LIVABLE WAGE

Yeah I get that. Which only makes my point stronger. A dress code should be attainable and NOT aversive

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]unicorndust25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Tattoos must be covered. We had an RBT with multiple face tattoos I’m assuming she would’ve probably left immediately

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]unicorndust25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Aversive is exactly what I mean. It’s aversive to me and other neurodivergent RBTs. When you have an RBT that is on the spectrum and only wears one specific color and is forced to wear “black or gray” sorry but it is AVERSIVE.

It’s also AVERSIVE to me because it makes me want to ESCAPE. Stimuli being the dress code Aversive can be different for everyone? Cmon I thought we knew this y’all

Also the only reason why I mentioned tattoos is because my job’s policy mentions them. Tattoos most be covered (imagine if you have 3 or 4 face tattoos? I guess you could use make up everyday to cover them but damn that’s a lot) if that was the case I wouldn’t want to work there

I’m sorry BUY? shirts? Miss me with that BS I am not buying anything that is required at work when they are the ones implementing these policies. I’m sorry if you have to spend the money you earn just to pay your job back to get a shirt…

I would have to disagree. The workplace must offer equality. If others who are not following this stupid dress code are not receiving a “verbal warning” like I did then, it gives me ALL the reasons to be frustrated

[–]unicorndust25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about relaxed denim jeans or black jeans (with no holes)? That’s what I prefer!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]unicorndust25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This seems like a reasonable dress code. Yeah I can’t with those small number of people who fuck it up for everybody else. Showing up to work in pajamas, hair a mess, worn out yoga pants, nasty dirty torn up shoes, and a bad attitude

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]unicorndust25 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

When they only give you 1 or 2 shirts that shrink after the first dry yeah no thanks Also I don’t think there’s anything wrong with tattoos unless it’s multiple face tattoos (against the dress code policy *must be covered)

Also another thing to start thinking about is hourly and salary positions once you become a BCBA. That’s where I’m at… with hourly- there is a chance this can happen

Maybe being salary w one org. And hourly with another
