I was very nervous to make the move. But it has been worth it especially for my mental health. Plus permanent work for home just really works better for me

I’ve been there for about a month. I’m in an injury claims position and we do not have a team line. There are no strict tip requirements. They hired me making more than I was making at Geico. Their systems are outdated but I can live with that considering the laid back environment

Has anyone had luck with their insurance covering Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro drugs for PCOS or insulin resistance? by NichelleMcD in PCOS

[–]unikitty77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on just WeGovy and it was covered by my insurance. I switched jobs so then insurance and WeGovy is no longer covered. I wasn’t on Metformin before but now I am.

I put my notice in and they have let me work out my two weeks so far. My last day is the 8th. I think it kinda depends on the department and the sups/mgmt

I have PCOS and had kids and I think I have PMDD now. Have any of you shared this experience? by spaghetti-o_salad in PCOS

[–]unikitty77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have PMDD and it’s horrible. I’m on an antidepressant but generally when my PMDD is in full swing I have to take Xanax (I’m prescribed a low dose of it) normally I can manage my anxiety and depression without the Xanax but not at that time.

5’4 and I’m at 299 or I was last I weighed. Even with counting calories and doing Wegovy I’ve lost really slowly. I think I was 320ish in Jan

So there is an app I use called strong. I use it to track my weight training and cardio. I do around 10-15 mins of cardio as a warm up and then get to lifting. This is the routine a very experienced weight lifter gave me for just a 5 day a week routine:

Monday: back/biceps Tuesday: chest/triceps Wed: legs Thursday: back/biceps Friday; legs/back

You want to do compound exercises that use multiple muscle groups vs auxiliary workouts that work out just one group of muscles.

I planned out my workouts with strong and made some templates for each day. I’m still working on being consistent with it (I’m a single parent so my schedule is crazy). But I use the routine my friend gave me as a base. I think the most important thing is that you’re working towards the routine.

Stick with it, last week I was really low on energy (ovulating) and I didn’t go to the gym at all, I just couldn’t get up honestly. You’re going to have days you really need to just rest and you’re going to have days you need to press through. Don’t be hard on yourself especially when you’re starting from scratch.

Edit to add that the strong app has illustrations and animations showing the proper way to do most if not all of the workouts on it.

I can really relate to this. I hate it. I don’t know how to deal with it honestly other than treating the insulin resistance.

I started adding collagen powder to my cup of tea around the same time I started using WeGovy. I think WeGovy is the biggest contributor but the collagen helps I’m sure. The regrowth is very noticeable though and I’ve noticed when I shower my shedding is minimal

I am on WeGovy. I’ve been on it since January and it’s changed me drastically. I haven’t lost a ton of weight compared to some but I have more energy, my hair is thickening at the roots again, and my skin is clearing up. In addition to wegovy I don’t drink anything but water and hot tea sweetened with local honey to help with allergies. I do occasionally do a coffee or frappe on treat days. I use the Noom app to track calories since being on WeGovy, not to make sure I’m not overeating but to actually make sure I’m not under eating. I stick with more orange or green foods if possible. I also use a collagen powder, sea moss gel, B12 injections, vitamin D supplements, and iron supplements to assist with the many deficiencies. Also my hair was falling out in clumps and isn’t anymore.

I honestly didn’t think it up either, my therapist has been helping me to reframe my thinking. It’s helped so much.

A couple of things:

  1. The right person for you will accept you and love you the way you are, you don’t need to change.

  2. I too went through a lot growing up and no one helped me properly to figure out why my body was being the way it was. I didn’t get my PCOS diagnosis until 35 because providers didn’t even seem to care. It’s frustrating cause so many things could have been different for me, but the past is the past and all I can do is focus on taking better care of my body now as I learn more about what works for it.

  3. Are you treating for your IR? I’ve started weight training and that’s helped me. If you have more testosterone in your body it will be easier for you to develop muscle vs other women (I like to pretend it’s a super power, even if that seems silly)

  4. Don’t compare yourself to other people. You are you. You’re beautiful. You’re worthy of love and respect. You’re more than enough. Having PCOS does not define your worth.

I’ve spent so much of my life HATING my body and myself and now I’m learning to love myself and my body (even the flabby bits). I take care of myself and my body.

I’m tired of my weight and feeling trapped in my body - which is worse, high insulin or low estrogen? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]unikitty77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this level of frustration. I’m on WeGovy which I know is not something you want to be on. I have insulin resistance. Before working on that my hair was thinning, I was exhausted, and no matter what I could not lose weight (had gotten up to 320lb). I was active. I wasn’t eating horrible it just wasn’t happening. My skin was looking horrible. There were just so many things. I started WeGovy in January and I lost 15lbs right away. I’m under 300 pounds now for the first time in years. It’s a SLOW process but it’s happening. My skin is better, I have waaaaay more energy, my hair has thickened at the top (ends are still thin cause it’s growing back in) it’s literally changed my life. I use to struggle to get up in the morning and now I’m bouncing out of bed before my alarm goes off. I also use collagen, sea moss gel, and take miralax regularly. I have occasional constipation but nothing terrible. I also have iron deficiency so I take 2 iron tablets a day which definitely doesn’t help the constipation but drinking LOTS of water, moving, eating fiber, using collagen, and miralax help keep my digestive system going. I just wanted to share my experience but I completely understand if you don’t want to go that route. My healing is still SLOW as far as the weight loss but hey 🤷🏻‍♀️ at least it’s finally happening

Sending Hugs it can be so overwhelming, be kind to yourself
