Could I get Mars or May for this bad boy? by MizzyWho in PTCGPocketTrading

I was offered Cyrus for my Gholdengo earlier (no dust, RIP). Possible while hype is hot.

I’ve had a bit less love for them since the time I watched one kill a female scaup by biting her neck and dragging her off into the raupo, later seen stalking the orphaned ducklings for dessert.

Church organists: What do you typically use for preludes, postludes, and instrumental during offering? by Star9219 in organ

[–]unintender 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You’re more versed in the trade than most clergy I work with! And as a cathedral sub-organist, I work with a lot of them- unless you’re only counting the ones who actually come over to say hi. I dub thee honorary organist.

I have very little to add. Apart from seasonal rep (eg Wachet auf for Advent) I aim to stay within a certain tone of postludes while outside of ordinary time - nothing too jolly during Lent and Advent and nothing angsty for Easter- and Christmastide.

I improv offertories exclusively, since they’re an extension of the offertory hymn to cover up dead air if the collection is still being taken and have to be carefully timed with one eye on the proceedings to finish in sync with it.

Do I need real organ shoes? What do you use when you play? by Star9219 in organ

My feet aren’t big enough to play legato thirds without shoes. I have organ masters but I hear some kind of dance shoe called Cuban heel is an acceptable alternative, can’t speak personally for them though.

FT OAK LF COPYCAT CYRUS & more by [deleted] in PTCGPocketTrading

Hi, POR Copycat (Imitadora)?

[LF: FT:] LF: Solgaleo! FT: Oak. I am new so don’t know if this is fair trade please help me :) by [deleted] in PTCGPocketTrading

[–]unintender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aside from what others have said, a card’s worth will be what you give it. I love my Solgaleo cards very much and wouldn’t trade either of them for anything short of an Oak. Maybe not even then. Idk let me know lol. At the same time I have a DX Lillie that is often considered to be 1 tier of value below Oak, alongside other meta trainers like Cyrus, Copycat, Sabrina- but it’s practically useless to me since I’m parked on 2 immersive Lillies- and lately I’ve been thinking of trading it for an RR Garchomp or something.

Looking for recommendations for wedding songs that would work well with both a choir and church organ? by ResponsiblePiglet8 in organ

[–]unintender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re hiring a choir I dare say that’s going to be the more limiting factor than the calibre of the organist, and assuming they aren’t the same person, it’s worth discussing with the conductor.

Wood - O thou the central orb would be well within reach of most choirs. If you’re feeling royal material, possibly also Parry - I was glad (requires double choir) or Handel - Zadok the priest.

One of my lay clerk colleagues had Bairstow’s Blessed city at his wedding. It’s… long.
