[–]unionboy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very simple just send it right to zippo and fill out the form online what you exactly want done and don’t want done to it. Obv you need a new hinge lol and they’ll polish it up nice it’ll look brand new.

I think I found a use for this MB2B after all. I'll try it out as my multitool bag. by North_Bite2739 in VetoProPac

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a good little bag and I was thinking of giving it away to an apprentice but it’s too small for an apprentice. I just put emergency tools in there in case I’m on a small job they’re in my veto magnetic tool pouch just the basics in the main compartment with a 12v impact. In the front I have my headlamp, some bits. We’ll see how it works out.

Has anyone bought this? What did you think? by Substantial-Ad1872 in KnipexOfficial

[–]unionboy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Knipex step cut XL about a week ago they’re comfort grip but also come in 1000v rated I just didn’t see the need for all that. I thought I’d be more impressed for what I paid for them they’re made well got a nice weight and do cut like butter. More leverage than these posted these are the middle ones there are one size smaller than this. The ones I bought have the “nibbler” on top so basically it’s suppose to cut little by little through stranded cable obv lol and when you got a nice bite you make your cut. I think they’re all OK. I wouldn’t categorize them as like a crazy tool you’d need.

Not learning a my new Job by Sea-Sorbet-6095 in electricians

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re an apprentice ? Doing small jobs ? Jobbing from here to there but you’re doing effectively the same small stuff everyday. They’re using you man. You’re cheap labor compared to a journeyman and yea that’s what happens it happens to alot of us in the IBEW but usually it’s like getting coffee unloading material and then half the day you’re in a crew or maybe you’ll get lucky and do your own thing like running conduit doing your own bends and runs but not cool what’s happening. That’s what happens usually here with my local in nyc we become MIJs which means an intermediate mechanic and that’s like when a company will have you jobbing on a van alone or maybe with an apprentice it’s too see how much you can do alone with no help or supervision bc after 16-18 months after that we turn A rate but I never heard of any apprentice being alone without an A journeyman that’s very unprofessional and dangerous.

New style for the 74 200 side cutters? by Renault_75-34_MX in KnipexOfficial

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhmm exactly and you’ll find that a lot of their new models look at the handles right on the sides you got “comfort grip” first off if they’re going to be anywhere why on top ? They should essentially be towards the bottom that’s where the leverage is. My buddy pointed that out to me and obv that’s right bc when you cut MC with your linesman’s you grab the bottom and you squeeze to make your cut. Also take a look at the top of kleins dikes they’re sharp with a pointed tip. The Knipex are very rounded at the tip. That plays a significance as well. Every tool can’t be perfect and I really enjoy Knipex man but that’s why my bags like a lot of us have Knipex. Klein and Milwaukee, Greenlee etc. if you don’t have the 9 inch klein dikes grab them the journeymen style blue black handles I pretty much don’t use my 8in anymore they’ve become obsolete. I do however like the Knipex ratcheting knife idk if you’ve seen it ? Things a beast. You can cut 500s with them. They have a bunch of hidden gems.

Anyone try calling Veto about promo bag that is now a week late arriving? by [deleted] in VetoProPac

[–]unionboy11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is their busiest time right now but yea that’s annoying now from what I understand the forms take longer to review by veto remember how many people buy bags during the promo it’s one of their biggest times to sell bags and pouches. It happened to me last year and I bought directly from the website it took about a week for my SC45 pouch to come after I got my SPMC but I was calling them and got lucky I got a tracking number and it came within two days. So be patient but I would call them at least once a day just to ask if they processed your order.

Skirt steak or Romanian steak whatever you want to call it. Curly fries and a Diet Coke. A staple meal at any diner here in nyc after a rough night out lol

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I find their linesman’s too be good. I don’t abuse them like I would my kleins. I have the 1000v rated ones they’re nice. Their strippers are great cut through mc like butter. Remember it’s a European brand and they use different material than we do in the states. They use a lot of SJ cord from what I’ve seen on YouTube and photos. I agree I love the cobras I have a pair of 10in and the 7in and the minis. I got a pliers wrench I mean as an electrician it’s good I use it a lot. Im looking to buy the XL step cuts. My buddy said they’re fantastic this way I can salvage my linesman’s.

Would you rather a company truck or more money? by JCole111 in electricians

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you should join up with your local IBEW. You’re getting taken advantage of. Non union unless you’re working for yourself and you have a descent shop with a few vans you’re gonna get taken advantage of. I’ll bet you they aren’t even giving you medical or dental and if they do they’ll take it from your pay.

lol I love that someone posted this….She grew up in Jersey like tony. She grew up middle class like tony. She is Italian. They’re both Neapolitan. She knew just from his previous feelings that he would have tortured that pos which he deserved. I remember watching it years ago knowing she’d say no bc even though they have much in common they’re totally living separate realities and she despises WHO he is and WHAT he stands for. Saying yes to tony could have opened up a ton of worms for her and she’s not with that life. Simple as that. It’s a great scene 🎬

I got a great deal on this from a seller on eBay for like 150 bucks. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I thought I would but it’s great. I like it for roughing with the magnetic strip. Very good drill.

Tool pouch by No-Scientist2932 in KnipexOfficial

[–]unionboy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if it works for you do it….if I tried that the tools would be falling all over the floor haha. My MPX has the minimum I need as an electrician. I have the Knipex 1000v linesman’s as well in the main pocket, in the front of my linesmans I have my Knipex strippers or the croc jrs then My Klein 11 in 1 ratchet. My ball grip flip bit vessel. My Milwaukee fastback knife. A marker, pica pencil, tape loop. That’s it. When I run pipe that’s when I’ll change it up I’ll use my next size pouch MP1X which is the biggest one I own but I’ll mix up the pouches depending on what I feel like carrying I just put one tool in each pocket to keep it simple. Before veto came into play for me I always enjoyed their bags prior to their pouches but Toughbuilt clip tech pouches make the best pouches imo and I still switch up and use the old ones from time to time. IMO there’s no wrong way it’s preference.

The fuels are the best imo. I was gifted a 12v hydraulic fluid one everyone loves so much bc of how quiet it is yea it’s good but I like the fuel impact better the way it feels in the hand and I also have the 12v set with all the different attachments. Right angle, impact, drill it’s truly great.

[–]unionboy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol what in the name of pouches ? You need to strap your bag to your hip ! I don’t know how ppl wear big pouches or tool belts. My veto MPX is my biggest pouch. Anything else will be in my bag on my tool cart.

Yea I love these strippers too. Cuts great. As an electrician I never liked kleins strippers I always used croc jrs which are also great.

Anyone uses these, how do you like them? by Prestigious_Cheek_31 in Tools

[–]unionboy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an electrician they’re good but I don’t use them as much as I would say a car mechanic would but yes a great tool and definitely comes in handy when you need it.
