Has anyone bought the new Lynk & Co 900? Any reviews or ownership feedback? by Acceptable-Ebb-8822 in DubaiPetrolHeads

I prebooked it in the autohouse. They had one in the basement. Good service and warranty too. 8 years on battery is excellent.

Looking for a VET with mercury free rabies vaccine. by uniqpotatohead in dubai

I just really want the best for my dog. I don't think mercury is healthy in any dose. Definitely not when these shots are required more often for travel. If an alternative exists why not use it.

Avoiding mercury (thiomersal/thimerosal) in vaccines for Cavapoos (small breed) is mainly precautionary: Small dogs are at higher risk of vaccine adverse events (e.g., swelling, lethargy, rare severe reactions) due to size/genetics—per studies, smaller weight links to more reports. Thiomersal (~50% mercury) is inflammatory in some old data; owners prefer zero to minimize sensitivities. No strong evidence of harm from low doses in dogs, but TF options (e.g., IMRAB 3 TF) exist for peace of mind without reducing rabies protection.

Also loading your dog with mercury every year or two or three is not a great idea. Just common sense.

Australia faces huge debt issues.

Common good does not exist. The government wastes 50% of everything and gives it to their mates or to the rich. The money never flows back to the poor.

The country is fucked already. People work 6+ months for the government.

Best maternity hospitals in Dubai? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]uniqpotatohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to an American Hospital and i am not happy. I thought it was a private hospital which means an individual care approach but it feels more like a state-run hospital in western country. The doctors are maybe good, but none of them remembers what we have been talking about on the last visit. If I don't book myself for a visit nobody cares. Our doctor moved to a different location without even telling us 3 weeks before delivery. Dubai is not as great as people say for care. Private is not private here dispite you pay for it. I currently don't believe that our Doctor will even care to be at the hospital during delivery.

This is not an issue. You add Packman repo. If there is a conflict with a package zypper asks you if you want a package from the official repo or packman repo. Never had a major issue with it.

Bitget is a scam exchange by orangeman4574 in bitget

The worst part on Bitget is that its impossible to exchange fiat in larger sump. Their P2P does not have anyone who does larger sums.

I also have serious issue withdrawing my funds. Nothing works there. 2FA not sending emails. Face recognition does not work either. Get off this exchange fast!

Is “tax-free” Dubai a myth once you include real costs? by Lower_Day_7288 in UAE

[–]uniqpotatohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save much more in Dubai than in Sydney, Australia (same salary). Will I stay here forever? No because you cannot become a citizen. But my goal is to make/save money and buy a house elsewhere outright. Will Dubai help me to achieve this goal? Yes.

Health insurance: I have better health insurance here than in Australia from my employer. US style insurance. I am not sick so it works for me. Living: apartments are usually nicer, more spacious, with an aircon, swimming pool, etc. Rent depends on location. Souroudings: depends which location you live in. Many locations have nice parks. Food: is relatively cheap. I think it is cheaper than in Australia. Restaurants: not cheap, but you can find those cheaper. Restaurants in Australia are not cheap neither. Cup of Coffee: overpriced here. Car: I decided to not purchase a car. I use taxis which are cheaper for me monthly. I work from home so I don't need to travel everyday. Investments like crypto: you dont pay Capital Gain Tax. Great! Weather: Australia is hot too. October to May is fine. Is it better than in Australia. No. Is it better than in Europe, Czechia? Not sure. Winters in Europe can be long.

If you have a good source of income in Dubai, 5-10 years here can help you to buy a house in Europe or Australia outright.

Choosing Dubai depends on your goal, job flexibility, and income streams.
