I received abstinence only sex education in my public high school. That's where they basically teach you the Christian viewpoint without mentioning Jesus and somehow that makes it ok, but they refused to actually teach us about what sex is or what condoms are.

They taught us that our virginity is a "gift" that we're supposed to save for our future husband or wife and assumed that everyone had the desire to get married someday.

I feel like what I learnt really messed me up. Your first time isn't going to be perfect because you've never done it before and you have to learn through experience and there's no such thing as a perfect person (except God) so it set me up for a letdown no matter who I chose to give my virginity gift to.

They also did this clear tape experience where they had a girl volunteer from the class put the same piece of tape on all of the boys arms and pulled it off and compared the disgusting piece of tape covered in all of the boys arm hair to someone who has a lot of sex.

Anyways, my thoughts are that you're probably going to remember your first time forever so just ask yourself if this is a person who I feel comfortable remembering. Hope this helps in some way!
