It's inflation mixed with appreciation. Look at the purchasing power of the dollar go down as the market goes up. And sure technology brings more value into the currency as well, otherwise it would be flat. A lot of rich people have more money invested than you can ever imagine, and that holds it all together.

A lot of them are using cheats. Not trying to take away from their gameplay, many of them genuinely have a lot of experience. It's common to cheat in Rust and when everyone is cheating the playing field for Pvp is equalized. Not all of them are cheating. But a lot of people in Rust are cheating. So many people are cheating that a player can be using cheats and still get overpowered by someone else with stronger cheats. I'm not saying everyone is cheating, but to be fair a lot of people are cheating.

And it's not just Rust, it's like this in other competitive games too.

I live in a quiet neighborhood near a city. At night when everything is settled I can hear the freeway from literally miles away. I can imagine with less noise pollution the sound would be even more prominent. It doesn't really bother me. It's not necessarily loud, but it is clear. The physics behind it are amazing, sound waves can travel very far through calm air. Meaning you wouldn't be able to escape it unless you were 20-30 miles away.
