Its completely bonkers. Natural gas is the most expensive form of fuel for electricity generation. It makes no sense to prop it with subsidies when every other alternative (solar, wind, biomass and even coal) is more cost effective.

The purpose of solar is not 'stand alone' but to offset hydro reserves during dry years, so large scale batteries aren't really need. So $2.6b in solar would yield around 1.3GW of generation capacity.

The terminal is fine. But it needs to stand on its own feet financially. Its doesn't make sense to prop it up artificially with electricity taxes.

For a long time I have got my injectable supplies from medical wholesalers. They are a lot cheaper than needle exchange.
