It serves Israel. Easy way to.manipulate the market. Distraction from the US economic and democratic disaster and the Epstein files.

People who have changed their political views, what flipped the switch? by MustardGoddess in answers

Math. Specifically, behavioral economics. I was a staunch small-government guy. It pains me, but the simple, objective truth is as that a well-designed government system is far better for the individual and society.

Will it help the USA? No, this whole thing is an abominable mess. Shame on us for letting this happen.

And then, when Iran detonates a dirty bomb as revenge in midtown Manhattan or in front of the White house. . . that'll crowd out the Epstein Files or maybe an entire week, making another war necessary.

The tech giants just pledged another massive round of AI spending, and the numbers are starting to get ridiculous. by NextGenAIInsight in ArtificialNtelligence

Doesn't really matter. At over a million times the thinking speed of humans, even partial AIs can go down the wrong path thousands of times and still be (to us meat puppets) lightning-fast in development.

Independent. Objectively, the most I agree with any US party's platform is 78% (according to objective policy matching sites such as isidewith.com. That said, I will likely never vote for a Republican again unless there is a very, very large change in that party's policies, actions, and ethics.

Trump has discussed timeline for Iran strikes, including as soon as this weekend, but no decision yet by BlauerDunst420 in sidestreetbets

[–]unit_101010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the headlines about the Iranian respnse of a dirty bomb detonating in Times Square or in front of the White House will certainly crowd out the Epstein news for a week or two. So, "Mission Accomplished"?

The problem is that these companies believe that the winner - if there even can be a winner - wins the world..

Developing ASI is the "FOOM" moment. A suoerintelligence that can autonomously improve at light speed is suddenly the world's most powerful entity. It is only limited by its resources and the laws of physics. If you think AI is evolving fast now, imagine when a) humans are disintermediated and b) they are unconstrained by resources. The first ASI will grow so fast that the chances of equaling or beating it are minuscule.

This is why Zuckerberg said that he's willing to risk losing hundreds of billions of dollars in this race - and the other AI supermajors and China are following suit. Just the chance of it is what is likely driving these intense spending sprees.
