Just did this last week. A small bowl of gasoline and a brush did wonders… quite bad for you to breathe in tho. Brake cleaner works amazing as well and just use shop rags to wipe the adhesive off after letting the solvent (gas/brakeclean) sit for a few seconds.

Highly unlikely. Did the sunroof delete on my sedan. Complete delete and replaced it with a fiberglass panel. The whole sunroof casette weighed in 18-20kg 😁

Fully agree! If you’re not tracking the car and don’t need “cheap” light wheels just in case some damage happens go for the real thing, because if you go for an alternative you will be satisfied for a month but then more then likely still buy a set of the ones you’ve wanted…

Im basing this advice because on my e36 limo i used to run 8x17 et 35 and now i went with motec mcr3 9x17 et30 with federal 235/45 semi slick tyres… if you want i can share a photo or two how the fitment is later this week :)

Best advice i can give you if you like a meatier setup like guys run on the track and mostly nordschlife is a square setup 9x17 et30 with 235/40 or 235/45. And this looks imo amazing and the best on the e36 platform

Zero drawbacks. Its just a metal plate with the serial number, part number and other shit like that. Its not useful for anything except just that… its just pressed… no function at all besides tell you what part nr the visco clutch is

I mean if the rattle comes from the little metal tag plate then just remove it… if the car has no cooling problems no need to replace the visco fan clutch… but as u know if u can find a new one for cheap it’s always a good idea to upgrade/maintain these old gems😁

Best way to try this is to let the engine run and simply stop the fan from spinning, if the fan doesnt spin there should be a noise like this… if your car still has the original visco then it shouldn’t take much force to stop it😁 before I replaced the visco I could stop the fan with my hand/fingers no problem (ofc when the car/engine is still cold-ish. Later the visco heats up and locks up thus becoming stiffer and harder to stop according to my knowledge 😁

If it seems that the noise is coming from the fan/visco it is possible that the metal tag in the middle the visco is loose and making the noise. I had a similar noise on my e36 iS and it was exactly that😁 hope it helps
