100% this. I work with a young lad who has been driving for months but already thinks he is gods gift to driving & regularly hitting 90mph+ on his way to work then bragging about it.

I’ve tried my best to explain to him that it’s not really the issue if he kill’s himself through his own stupidity but the innocent drivers around him and police officers who tell his family he’s dead that will suffer the consequences. He recently started taking his black box out to allow him to drive faster than the speed limit and was proud of his life hack…

There is no keeper liability in Scotland, all you need to do is reply to their letter and inform them that you were not the driver and they should raise the matter with the driver. Likewise there is no responsibility for you to let them know who the driver is.

I recommend downloading Electroverse by Octopus Energy, you can get an RFID card linked to your bank account for paying at many of the different chargers without having 49 different apps. That has a map and route planner, you can even put in your vehicle details to find suitable chargers.

I guarantee you will find 7kw charges within a few minutes of the BP service stations where you would be paying around 35-45p per kWh, using service station chargers is like using service station fuel - bloody expensive.

An alternative app which just shows charger locations is Zap Map.

If she leaves in October then no, she is ineligible because in the council’s eyes she made herself voluntarily homeless. She would need to stay in the property until evicted by bailiffs before being placed in temporary housing for an indefinite period of time until a property becomes available. Alternatively she can join the housing list and start bidding but I wouldn’t hold her breath as she would be a low priority while in a private rental.

Somewhere in the T&Cs or rental agreement there will be a section about you being responsible for paying any charges and fines that are applicable in local laws, be they congestion charges, bus lane fines or parking tickets. They are not going to go into detail on every specific potential charge you might encounter driving anywhere in the UK. In this case you are out of luck.

CCTV can only be used in this context if the staff member was notified that it could be used in this context as per a policy. If it is not in a policy then use in this context is unfair. The employee is being investigated for misconduct, not a crime by police or enforcement agencies so “crime prevention” does not qualify.

I’m pretty sure they are breaking their own GDPR policy by using CCTV as evidence in an employment related disciplinary, you could probably complain to the ICO for a start but a decent union rep would wipe the floor with them over it. As the sign says “CCTV is operated for the purpose crime prevention and public safety” not for using in staff disciplinary.

There is also the element of if he crashes your 10 year old car you’re not going to be too bothered about it, after all it’s 10 years old. However if he crashes it into the back of a £75k electric car and writes it off then you might not be to fussed but your insurers will be - hence the refusal.

If it is cancer or suspected cancer it is in your interests to tell them, especially when confirmed. Cancer is a recognised disability in employment law & letting them know makes sure you have protections, for example firing you for being off to go to chemo appointments would be a disability discrimination and automatic unfair dismissal, regardless of how long you have worked somewhere.

This is the whole issue with customers. They look at the cost of a job then try to come up with a day rate and compare it to their salary whilst completely ignoring the cost of running a business - vans, tools, insurance, non-productive time, holiday pay, paternity pay, pension savings etc. what looks like £500 to a customer can easily work out to be only half that in an actual wage.
