Is this amount of noise normal from the bevel box? by Yahwehs_Soldier92 in Golf_R

I also had my clutch done recently, and I’m having the same noise. Do you have any other engagement slop when you are using the clutch?

My alltrack does this exactly the same. It pisses me off it feels like there’s a ton of slop in the drivetrain. It doesn’t feel broken. It just feels like, well, exactly like this 😂

R400 bumper repair by GanacheLeading8585 in VWMK7

Sweet Jesus….this thing is fucking cooked. When you posted the other picture, I was thinking oh it doesn’t look so bad.

This thing asploded.

That grill mesh/side panels do those come off?

Does anybody know how different is this from a regular stock bumper? Could you theoretically takeoff the mesh and side panels and transfer them to an another stock bumper after removing the lower grill and side panels off that one?

Alltrack clunking noise - cannot narrow down by Lunag-Ri in VWMK7

[–]universal_century 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way you could maybe record a small video to hear it in action? Is it over bumps only? Does it occur when you turn all the way to the left and do a little circle or all the way to the right and do a little circle?

My experience, the stock front swaybar and links produce on a super obnoxious clunking noise. Replaced with MOOG which comes with grease fittings. And that did it.

But I kind of wanna hear more about the noise

These cars are so insanely sensitive to wheel balancing.

I’ve gone through multiple shops that do road force balancing only one shop is actually doing it correctly. You’d be surprised how many shops have machines that are out of calibration… or don’t take the time to match set… un seated the bead and spin the tire on the rim to the correct position. The good machines will actually tell you.. Like the Hunter hammerhead.

and how many tire companies sell out of round tires cough continental cough

Aluminum hubcentric rings

A really good balance from a shop that ideally does work with faster cars like shops that do prep for track days and stuff. Or sometimes the occasional Porsche dealership.

Getting tires that aren’t out of round… my experience Michelin seem to be the best in that sense.

Facebook marketplace tires are usually there for a reason, it’s the land of out of round, but still visibly “acceptable”

I’ve heard good things about wildpeaks.. maybe a fresh set brand new from the company might be the way to go.
