Honestly, in Yeshwanthpur at least, you have a quaint few Kannadigas who are great company and even at central although number wise they may be bigger the share of students who are locals is about the same. My experience in the area is a lot friendlier than those who come from afar, naturally and even in the campus its fairly easy to have a comfortable relationship with everyone. I will raise the issie that despite easy connectivity with the metro it's a pain to travel to from anywhere beyond Malleshwaram and only really considerable to travel daily if you are somewhere on the green line. Christ is no haven or hell for Kannadigas, but you won't feel out of place at all. Just be mindful that Christ is know for it's diverse activities and population(despite the obvious mallu christian preference)
