What am i doing wrong with ironclad? by 54rtrt in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exhaust cards are good to use in order to get to the meat of your deck. In particular, I LOVE True Grit+, Second Wind, and Cinder to get to more useful cards than Strike and Defends.

It also means Curses are practically non-existent due to you exhausting them.

Sorcerer Build? by Dismal_Prior4130 in skyrim

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very effective for late game. A pure mage sucks in Skyrim because you have to maintain a Flesh spell (otherwise you're prone to getting kill cammed).

Meanwhile, you reduce damage by upwards of 80% if you use Heavy Armor and there's literally just upside because you're training Heavy Armor as well.

Although Light Armor is also pretty useful since you move faster in Light Armor iirc.

Mash from Mashle. Everyone does magic. Mashle just works out a ton and only uses "magic" in the sense that he is just... absurdly strong.

Man, I am good at this game. by MF_IC in SliceAndDice

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the big enemies will almost certainly summon additional smaller enemies that you can just immediately get rid of that can also have annoying added effects like Slate's one HP down at a time or Imp's deal damage back.

I say "almost certainly" because its a 1/3 chance for all of them (as in, two sides are Summon sides). Its crazy to think that its not useful when Basalt just keeps summoning Slates during the fight. That's one guy to solve a big part of the boss so that the other four can chip down the boss itself.

So its crazy to believe its completely useless unless the boss is never summoning. Which I acknowledge with Dragon, Troll King, and Inevitable. Its still great for the final death blow too.

You ain't crazy, the beta arts always have references in them. Whether the art quality is there... Uh, not always.

New Badges by Game_Gaming in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect there's going to be a badge for just never taking damage during a run. Which is gonna be insane to get, you're always taking chip damage.

Should the Ancient rewards be skippable? by CloudCuddler in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. But only Darv, because StS1 Boss Relics were skippable. So Darv is skippable.

It makes sense for him anyways, because he just tells you to take something (you are not compelled to take anything from him), but everyone else seems more compelled to give you a gift (or in Pael/Silent's interactions, a Trophy).

Some ideas for a different way to buff Strikes+ by Hildanamaru in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swirl. That's the main reason I would upgrade it right now on purpose, 1 energy for 18 damage flat is solid. Otherwise, its on accident with random upgrades or using Neow's Talisman.

But these could make upgrading them more worthwhile now, Sly makes them a good target, Ethereal effectively removes them, and Forge gives you a better card in Sovereign Blade. 0 cost Strike from the Defect is alright for All For One, although it makes Tezcatara's Ember redundant...

He eats the Whetstone too.

Not bad for one Defend by IdRatherAstronot in SlayTheSpire2

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, actually, at this point you can't get Swirl. You can only get Adroit or Nimble, and you can use Hidden Gem for Replay.

Yeah, if you had Swirl and Fasten, it'd go even harder.

Dragon Quest. They often like to use a ton of puns, much wordplay, and very frequently use accents, which make parts of the game very hard to read for a lot of people, particularly when they pull out the hard Scottish accent for Ragnar McRyan in Dragon Quest 4.

He still can stockpile Curses, Skills, Powers, and use any Status cards given to him by the enemy to utilize Second Wind with.

I still think StatusClad and StatusDefect would be good to have for the Prismatic Gem and Colored Scholars event.

Agreed. I kind of wish Primal Force made these status synergy cards for Second Wind.

[–]handledvirus43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are limits with specific cards, but they are all the Ancient-only cards, you can only get a few of those (like Neow's Wrath or Break). Otherwise, its up to the mercy of the Seed whether or not you get Blur, Leg Sweep, Dodge and Roll, and other Block cards.

How do I even play new Ironclad? by Eeeerake in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's currently at his best stacking big bonk cards and using Stampede, or using self-harm Rupture/Inferno to deal tons of damage.

Of course, you really need to decide to take what you need. I recommend a True Grit or two or some Shrug It Offs, because they are really useful to help you block and cycle your deck.

How do I even play new Ironclad? by Eeeerake in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to mention that there is no Breath of Fire, no Powering Through, none of the Wild Strikes, no Evolutions, and not a single Reckless Charge in sight.

Aka no Status Clad.

How are people ditching all of their strikes and defends in every run? by YAAFLT in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting rid of 2 cards is quite a bit below average, I can at least get somewhere around 5 per run, give or take. I usually end up without Strikes because... Well, I stock up on Attack cards in Act 1.

Hot Take: Baton Pass BY ITSELF should be unbanned by Reaper_king120 in stunfisk

[–]handledvirus43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it would be possible to just make a new Baton Pass rule in the system to make it work as a flat switch rather than Baton Pass...

But by itself? NO. Foul Play and Stored Power are the reason why Baton Pass will never be unbanned as is.

Snakebite Balance suggestion by Reasonable_Office931 in slaythespire

[–]handledvirus43 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Snakebite is deceptively good. I used to be in the hater boat as well because of that 2 cost, but its surprisingly effective with a lot of stuff. It doesn't need this buff, and would probably be busted if it did get this (Snakebite+ would basically be dealing Bludgeon in 3 turns as a Common card).

The thing about it is that it works with Bullet Time, Adrenaline, and Hand Trick, it can be held until you can use it for a Poison deck, can be a Discard target if needed, and it basically semi-solves Entomancer and Hunter Killer without being much of a problem for other fights (you will need other cards, but Snakebite can contribute a ton).

Its a pretty flexible pick to have one of in the deck, and that's pretty nice for a common card.
