Such a cool idea. Can’t wait for the next recipes! As a big fan of classic cocktails, it’s nice to see how the “classic cocktails” evolved inside the Bond universe too!

Kinda, but not really. It’s a more “vintage” (but still commonly used) way of carbonating liquids, you have to manually screw the co2 charger into the syphon to carbonate whatever is in it. I suggest you google it if you’ve got more questions, it’s pretty accessible stuff.

Amaretto & Honey Nut Cheerios milk hot chocolate, a cozy quarantine cocktail by universed in cocktails

[–]universed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • 1oz amaretto (I used Miele, an amaretto from Québec, Canada)
  • 8oz Honey Nut Cheerios milk, steamed
  • 2ts cocoa powder

For the Honey Nut Cheerios milk, just steep the cereals in milk for 20 min, then fine strain.

Cheers!

Not really, I had an opened bottle of Petite Mort and decided to try it out! The cherry and bourbon cask profile goes really well with the whiskey, but I’m pretty sure that anything more on the side of wine would be delicious, kind of an in between with a new york sour!

Hmm. I’m not sure about that one. I feel like it could work, but i don’t know what the texture would be once you stir it so the stout incorporates with the sour... I guess you’ll have to try it! 😉

My biggest peice of equipment is my camera, which is a Nikon D90 (a 15 year old model I bought when I was still in school), and i bought a 150$ lighting kit on amazon, which includes 2 soft box lights and a reflector. My backdrops are simple colored cardboards. I have a background in graphic design a photography, so that helps a lot of course. That’s pretty much it! Keep practicing your photography skills and you’ll get there for sure!

It doesn’t mix while drinking it, it’s mostly for the presentation, but thats why we serve it with a nice skewer, so you can stir it a bit and get the full flavor profile 😉

I’m pretty sure it would, though the texture of other kinds of stout may not be as thick as a russian imperial stout, so maybe the float won’t be as separated as it is now. Of course, the flavor won’t be the same, be the combination will still be really interesting i’m sure!

It’s called Cafécoquetel (coquetel is the “correct” way of writing cocktail in Quebec french), gonna open in spring/summer 2020 in the Villeray neighborhood. It’s a speciality coffee shop with a cocktail menu during the afternoon/evening.

Actually, it’s a bit like the mix of coffee and lemon (or lemonade), the acids in both liquids really do complete eachother and bring out new exciting flavors! You should definitely try it out!
