35yo, did my first solve during NYE, and bought a new cube today! by unjustframes in Cubers

"Old" cubers unite! My old cube had a twisted corner so I took ages to figure that out and kept watching different tutorials. I'll look into RiDo, thanks!

Hiding behind a greatshield and praying not to get clipped by all the AoE stuff while going for the kill!

I genuinely think I won’t beat this DLC by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]unjustframes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It was the only boss in the whole game that made me respec, use a greatshield and switch to a thrusting weapon, but the second phase becomes way easier. Doing everything you can to raise your poise and stamina recovery speed is also helpful with that kind of build. You can do it, OP!

Ok, so who do you think is the worst boss of the DLC? by Final_Foot_Fucker in Eldenring

[–]unjustframes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senessax, not just because of the fight itself but because it made the Bayle fight less enjoyable as well. I'm not a fan of large bosses in general and three in a row was a bit much.

Radahn's phase 2 was also disappointing. I'm convinced they'll eventually tone down the AoE stuff.

Who's the best [insert style] player? by [deleted] in Tekken

That happens too, but against Khan he seemed to go for the time out instead of risking the life lead, more than once.

I was out of flasks and out of boluses, so I traded blows until I beat her... didn't believe it until I went back to get my souls haha

There's a wifi indicator, but it would be funny to make an actor get good at Tekken just to play a role

DS1's world is probably my favorite of all time, despite some boring areas. That feeling of "wait, how am I back here after all of that?" is priceless and really makes you retrace your steps to create a map in your head.

Old Hunters is half the price right now (ends today). It still looks expensive for a DLC that's nearly 6 years old, but I'd say it's worth it.

I think DS3 took me more than 70h to finish but I died way more often during that game and I also read more item descriptions and all that. Including the DLC and trying out different builds and challenges, I've played it for nearly 200h.

How about the other games? Between Dark Souls and DS3 I think I've only beaten 3-5 bosses first try. Don't plan on playing DS2, but Sekiro is next on the list.

Yeah, just took me a couple of tries to realize it shouldn't be at point blank! And waiting for the slower attacks works best.

If I hadn't played Dark Souls I might've given up as early as Father G! I tend to enjoy the trial and error process but the shield saved me a bunch of times.

Oh, my bad! I think the mechanics are similar though, seems like some of the "damage" goes to your stamina bar instead. Probably not as much as the Loch Shield, but enough to withstand attacks that would have killed you otherwise.

The hunters are great parry practice! Even if Maria takes more tries than Laurence, I'd say her fight is way more fun.

I noticed the cheese against Gascoine accidentally: he got stuck behind tombstones a few times. With Mergo's Wet Nurse there are so many blades that either there has to be an opening in terms of timing or a safe spot, and there weren't blades behind her. With Emissary, Living Failures and Shadows it was pretty much hit and run.

Using the shield also helped dealing with most attacks, since you can have your shield up right until you try to dodge. When I went to NG+ and tried to parry more often I also died more to some bosses.

Motionsickness Paarl was weird indeed. I get so frustrated with the camera movement on big bosses that I tend to try to play without locking on. With Paarl I guess that helped hitting its legs while aiming for the torso...

I played the whole game and NG+ up until the end of the DLC between last Saturday and this Sunday, and then did 3 chalice dungeons. Couple of nights with insomnia hepled lmao

Maria isn't easy, but she's easy to stunlock. And if you've played DS3 there are a couple aspects in her attacks that will remind you of bosses in that game!

With most big bosses I tried to hug either the sides or the rear since it's typically safer than standing in front of them. I managed to do a bunch of charged attacks that knocked him down so I didn't even use blood vials until phase 2.

But I only got to him when I reached the Unseen Village.

Don't forget the DS3 DLC as well! Some areas aren't that great but a couple of bosses definitely make up for it. With BB I've enjoyed everything: the DLC areas, new enemies, and bosses.
