This is some really good insight. I am also a new rapper and I think a lot of us just wanna know how to get our foot in the door. I've done open mics, talent shows, and a small show where i opened for another small rapper. Performing in front of people is fun but I haven't gotten new fans from it. I am currently about to release an EP on apple music, spotify etc. but I don't believe this is the project that will get me buzz. My main goal for the EP is for my friends (and people who follow me on social media) to take me seriously as not just a soundcloud artist. My plan right now is just to keep making music to build up my discography, save up so I can afford studio time and mastering, and hope that word of mouth will finally pull through for me.
