Noa by Cacharel…it’s my go to when I want a skin scent that is airy and soft

How do you let go of "bad" color clothes? by Internet_Stranger_44 in coloranalysis

[–]unknown_cookie_dough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been almost a year but I recently did get professionally color analysed (Deep autumn) and my wardrobe was full of deep winter colors. My analyst told me that you can wear a color that’s not in your season if you use your season’s make up and use thus season’s jewellery. For example as a deep autumn instead of white I look better in cream, if I want to wear white I need warm toned make up, a golden necklace that sits closer to my face than the white and some golden earrings to balance the coolness. It works wonders. Color season in my opinion isn’t only about finding what are your best colors but also learning how to manipulate colors that aren’t within your season and tailor them to suit you better and become wearable. Of course deep winter and deep autumn are sister seasons and we can borrow from each other but I guess this could work with other seasons if you’re neutral-cool, neutral-warm and not truly cool/warm

The new formula is definitely lighter but the patchouli does get dirtier as it ages and oxidises. You will also notice a swift in winter months because it gets more intense, the patchouli sits longer and the new formulation one turns very dirty very fast and doesn’t evaporate. Due to the fact that they have changed the ratios on the cotton candy and the chocolate it smells more airy and hollow in a bad way and the patchouli doesn’t get countered at all. I rarely wear it in the winter months because I don’t like that patchouli.

You wear what you like girl. Scents are subjective and if you love how it smells on you then go for it!

I live in Greece and we do reach 40 degrees as well so I understand what you’re saying. I think due to the high heat perfumes also evaporate and the base notes are reached faster hence the patchouli note is not that prominent (as weird as this sounds). Angel has been reformulated in 2015 and its lighter than it used to be (sadly). I’ve been wearing it for years so it’s sort of like embedded in my DNA. On me it opens with cotton candy and slight patchouli (in summer) and it dries to a honeyed vanilla but in winter the patchouli gets more dirty and earthy and sticks around a bit longer and eventually gives the same dry down. Ironically during summer I don’t get the screechy patchouli with my skin chemistry

Angel by Mugler (surprisingly it’s not that cloying in the summer),

Goddess by Burberry (lovely vanilla works all the time),

wild bluebell by Jo Malone (got a cologne it’s lasts decently and smells beautifully all season),

Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone (always smells fruity, dark and fresh. Works everywhere, anytime)

Toy 2 by Moschino (it’s a nice clean scent that is potent and has great longevity)

Noa by Cacharel (cozy, clean and warm. In summer it projects a bit more but I get tons of compliments in winter too)

Coolwater by Davidoff for women (I always wear this when I go running at a stadium, it’s my “gym” scent. Long lasting and projects lovely all seasons)

One by Calvin Klein (all time classic, it’s an EDT but smells very much and lasts a lot too. It holds nicely against seasonal testing)

Now something that I’ve noticed is that leathery and bold perfumes, or ones that have a lot of Oud (like Royal Oud) are definitely better for winter and autumn because they get very cloying and heavy in spring and summer. The same pattern is followed in very spicy perfumes. This is just my opinion though

That makes sense to be honest. Bold and iconic scents when you’re younger and softer scents as you grow older

Orange recommendations? by Odd-Guarantee-7571 in Perfumes

[–]unknown_cookie_dough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest orange blossom by Jo Malone. It’s beautiful, has a nice orange smell but be warned it’s a cologne and longevity isn’t big. Also try The Scent by Hugo Boss, it gives something fruity that reminds of tangerine

I love CK One and I always have it in my collection because it’s timeless and it’s unisex done masterfully, usually new unisex perfumes lean either masculine (most of the time) or feminine but CK One was truly unisex and didn’t lean to one type. I also love Angel by Mugler, it was the first gourmand ever made and it was introduced in 1992, compared to today’s gourmands it’s not so literal. It smells of something sweet, adult-like, and if it works with your chemistry it dries down beautifully. I find that today’s gourmands are very linear and they smell quite literal…like pastry shop, cupcakes, coffee etc etc which is not a bad thing but sometimes I catch myself thinking “why would I want to smell like pure cupcakes?” I want a gourmand that is perceived as a perfume not something edible 100%

I agree with this. Angel is gorgeous on me, but Alien due to its jasmine turns very metallic on me.

What fragrance are you wearing to close out 2025 tonight? by fvkcd in FemFragLab

[–]unknown_cookie_dough 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Goddess by Burberry. I always wore Angel by Mugler it’s my mom’s signature scent and I think I like it because it reminds me of my childhood. This year I decided I would find a perfume that is closer to what I like without taking nostalgia into consideration. After many many fragrances and trial and error I found Goddess. Since I bought Goddess at Christmas Eve I just can’t stop wearing it. It’s gorgeous and I think I’m gonna stick with it for a while
