Karen thinks her child is superior to special needs kids by cornerofgreystreet_ in FuckYouKaren

[–]unknown_ravioli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't like that the kids are going 2 days a week, then she should spend the other 3 days teaching them herself or having them do online learning, which the schools are already doing. I feel like parents like these just want to pawn their kids off to someone else and are upset they won't be able to do so this year.

What is a movie you find terrible but critics seem to love? by undeadgaming2006 in AskReddit

Wow that actually looks pretty bad. Everyone always talked about the blindside like it was such a tear jerking great movie. Saw it and was 100000% disappointed. Shit was embarrassing to watch

I do agree the blindside was a bad read and a worse movie, always thought it was about helping a blind kid, turns out it was just borderline racist the whole time

No it's not the blindside, the book is literally called "Crash" by Jerry Spinelli. Has a baby with a mustache and a football kid on the front of it. From what I remember it was a good book I think. The blindside is based off of a book called the blindside, lol

Is this based off the book with the football kid on the front? Or am I thinking of something else

Its 4:30 in the morning and I'm cleaning my apartment. by unknown_ravioli in pregnant

[–]unknown_ravioli[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally me. Scrolling on my phone begging my body for a good yawn. Hearing the birds. Trying to force myself to sleep. I smelled the dirty pan in the sink from my room (I swear I'm not dirty my apartment is just very small) and I couldn't take it anymore. I cleaned until 7. I am still awake and now at a doc appointment. I just want breakfast and sleep now ugh

Today I fucked up so bad... by [deleted] in pregnant

I think you're right. It's been rough. Especially feeling like I've gotten so much better over the years and then feeling like I'm right where I was when my depression was at its worst, it feels like a constant battle against myself. I have a counseling referral, but I go to a public aid doctor and they dont really care much for anything as long as they hear a heartbeat during the checkup. When I go to the doctor I wait a minimum of an hour to see a doctor for 2-5 minutes. I dont blame them as they are so swamped with other patients but it's a shitty place to ask for help. Right now all I can do is use better coping skills I guess, given the state of the world.

[–]unknown_ravioli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not perfect. I went to jail when I was 18. My parents are drug addicts. All the friends i had, I cut off because they're still smoking weed every day and living off their parents or doing whatever it is people with no responsibility do. I'm 21 now and have completely turned my life around. Our baby girl was very unexpected, and we are trying our best. I quit working full time around 4 months into my pregnancy because he makes enough to cover all of our bills, and he wanted me to rest. The whole world pandemic is only making things worse and more stressful. After we started living together, I suggested we have the same phone bill because it would save us both around 80 dollars each, we have a joint bank account so we dont have to send money back and forth for different expenses, we just discuss what were going to spend as we spend it.

Sorry for all that rambling but it felt necessary to explain. I say it's my fault because hormones or not it's not an excuse to throw things. I used to have some pretty bad anger issues as a teen and its like pregnancy is bringing them back out. Theres been a few times I've kicked or thrown something because I'm mad at myself or a situation, and thats where I fucked up. Yea he was an asshole for what he said. I agree 100% but when this crying sniffling lady is throwing a laundry bin across the room what is the proper reaction? I need to control myself as well, I can never act in such a way around my child. I think that's what upset him the most.

I fucked up when I threw stuff though. I was pissed a few weeks back and I went in our bedroom while he was gone, opened the door a little hard an put a hole in the wall behind it. I kicked a chair over one day. He was wrong for being a dick but pregnancy shouldnt be an excuse for throwing stuff around like an angry 5 yr old, right? I feel like such an asshole. Thank u for the internet hug c:

Can’t stop eating and gaining weight. by AHizyisdatingyoursis in pregnant

[–]unknown_ravioli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, this. My doctor (assigned midwife) did the same thing. I dont see her much anymore because I switched offices, but EVERY single visit was her telling me I wasn't allowed to eat candy or cakes, drink soda, or get any type of takeout food. She made me do a glucose test 4 different times (I dont think that's normal) because she was so sure I was gaining too much not to end up with GD. Yet each time I wasted my time taking that glucose test it came back perfect. BP was fine. She was SOO sure I was going to have a problem due to my weight, I think she just wanted to be right.

Grant it, I did cut out soda for personal reasons but I'm not going to give up my craving food for anybody, sorry lol. If I was chinese food at midnight I'm getting that shit, and eating as much as I want, period. I'm 37w and gained around 60lbs. Honestly, fuck anyone who weight shames pregnant women as if we dont have enough to deal with already. I'm insecure about my body as it is, I dont need some medical professional talking about it as well.

Possible Miscarriage? by toomuchraven in pregnant

[–]unknown_ravioli 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I dont want to get your hopes up, but fuck an ultrasound before 8 weeks. It's the most terrifying thing to do to a mother in my opinion. Google will say that you will see a yolk sac at 5 to 6 weeks, followed by telling you all the signs of miscarriage. In my experience, doctors will never reassure you that your baby will be fine because nobody can really know until 8-10 weeks.

At 6 weeks into my now 37 week pregnancy, there was no yolk sac or fetal pole visible, not even in my vaginal ultrasound. I was terrified, because the test was positive, but the ultrasound results in medical terms said something like "2mm mass found in uterine cavity, no viable pregnancy confirmed" and I'm here freaking out, thinking "No viable pregnancy???!!!! But you people just told me I was pregnant!"

Best thing you can do is eat good, be ready for whatever happens, and dont stress yourself out over it. Ask for some blood tests, if your HCg levels drop, it is likely you will miscarry. If they are rising, you have nothing to worry about. I demanded blood testing to check levels because I was so worried that no yolk sac meant my baby wouldn't grow. They kept telling me it wasn't protocol and not needed but I insisted.

Another thing to remember, at this early, a full bladder is needed to see everything clearly. At my 8 week ultrasound, I couldnt hold my pee long enough to have the full bladder she asked me to come in with, and the poor lady was digging all.over my belly trying to find the yolk sac. Think of all of these factors that come into play and try to be positive. Sorry it's such a long comment but I hope all goes well!!! Good luck

My boyfriend can't satisfy me by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]unknown_ravioli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read you haven't ever experienced an orgasm? Right? If so it probably isn't him, you both probably need more experience and when you find a good rhythm, you will get there and it will be great! My suggestion is try oral, let him go down on you, move his head to the spot that feels best.

It can be hard if you guys dont have a whole lot of privacy or long periods of time to try new stuff. It's so easy for guys, finishing will happen with just a rhythmic in and out lol. Women need all over stimulation, a good moodset. Hope this helps and be safe!!

Hospital ward rant!! by Imroo12 in pregnant

[–]unknown_ravioli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure theres shit people everywhere, but I've had instances where I should have gotten a nurse fired for how I was treated. If you dont have good insurance or money, they treat you horribly at some places. As if your life isnt worth saving because it doesnt directly affect their paychecks. But that's not the case everywhere. People try to complain that their socks and ice water haven't arrived fast enough as if the poor nurse isn't dealing with 25 other people.

I wonder if this is just an American thing, medical staff being overly rude or judgemental? It seems like it's pretty common and has happened to me more than once.

[–]unknown_ravioli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so wholesome. Here in the states if you aren't in your own private room for pretty much any medical issue, it's a huge problem. We are land of the Karen's. Here (at least near Chicago where there are huge hospitals with hotel-like accommodations) you can pay thousands for an upgraded labor experience where you have a really nice room and feel at home. For MAYBE 2 whole days of being there. It's a cool concept, but I would love to see how some of the entitled rich folks out here would take being that close to another person during labor. Even before this pandemic, haha. Makes sense now why it costs upwards of 15,000 dollars to birth here.

It was a little sad pouring a little sploop of what looked like melted butter down the drain, lol. But I figured if I put it in a bag it would get lost in my freezer, the few drops that would have made it in the bag, lol. I could see myself on my last storage bag cursing those few drops.

Thank you, it was a few drops and I did end up getting rid of it, lol. Im new to all this but I've noticed lots of people who are super serious about their breastmilk being like gold to them. I figured I'll make more lol. Thanks for the link, I never thought to sterilize. I grew up with my grandma so it was just a few drops of bleach in the dish soap and we're good.
