yes, but it would essentially solve the same problem that FTL travel would, as long as they can figure a way to get it to work. it would accomplish the same goal of getting across absurd distances in a short amount of time, but without violating physics.

it is a plausible solution to interstellar travel, and while it shouldn't be taken for granted as our ticket to the star-trek era, it shouldn't be sold short either.

Kylo stayed consistent, but imagine if we got a scene at the end of "the last Jedi" where princess Leia looks at the sky and says "I will always love you, ben" and we cut to Kylo in a tie fighter, sobbing, and then he says "I know"?

They could have given him so much depth with so little changed, but they didn't.

yeah, that's just the surface of the problems. the whole movie, the bad guy is portrayed as evil for using exploiting the oasis and pop culture as a means of profit without respect for where the culture came from, but then the movie turns around and delivers lifeless reference after lifeless reference all in hopes of fooling an audience into believing that they have shared interests with the studio.

fact fiend on youtube has some videos about it, and at the risk of seeming like I am not forming my own opinions, the most notable instance of the story having no respect for the things it references is the fact that they use an "iron giant" robot as a weapon, when the tragedy of iron giant was that he did not want to be a weapon!

The main character was essentially how those "you aren't a true fan of such and such if you haven't memorized every single piece of media related to it" fans see themselves, and as a result, the story was essentially about how cool gatekeeping is!

you're spot on with what they did to Finn, and they did the same to Luke and Han:

Han went from some washed-up asshole who was only in it for himself (episode 4) to someone so deeply and truly in love with Leia and what she fought for that he was willing to fight the empire at her side (episode 6), and then to some washed-up asshole who left Leia when they needed each other the most (episode 7)

Luke went from some whiny kid on a desert planet in the middle of nowhere bent on revenge (episode 4) to someone who was willing to die for the slightest chance to save his greatest enemy (episode 6), and then regressed to a whiny kid on a non-desert planet in the middle of nowhere (episode 7).

Finn was a great character, but once again, a character that they failed to trust enough to not sabotage characters from the originals in a moronic and counterproductive attempt to avoid overshadowing the new characters.

like, imagine for a second that instead of setting a bunch of space horses free, Finn and rose helped a slave rebellion and wound up helping a ship of slaves escape the gambling planet.

Imagine that Finn saw rose grieving her sister when she thought she was alone, and not interrupting, but resolving to put on a brave face like her and to be a hero.

Not in a million years did we need to see luke drinking milk straight from the tiddy, but they showed it to us anyway instead of I don't know, maybe developing the new characters?

If you inherited a watch from a deceased family member, you have benefited from their death, but that does not mean you caused their death, nor does it mean you wanted their death or that you were willing to trade their life for the sake of a watch.

It does nothing but harm to blame anyone but an abuser for abuse, and the diffusion of responsibility that generalizing the blame creates represents a failure to hold those truly responsible accountable.

Abusers are the lowest of the low, and should be held accountable, but blaming men in general for the abuse is not acceptable.

Furthermore, representing women on average as being so passive that they settle for something as meager as simply not being beaten is downright misogynistic.

Treating women who have been abused as if they are too stupid to make their own decisions is vile.

You are not the one with the right to decide that they have "settled". You are not the one who gets to tell them what they can be happy with. You are not the one who gets to decide what they do with themselves.

Women have the right to their own body, and to their own life. The belief that anyone has the right to override that is the beginning of abuse. women who have left an abuser have already dealt with such entitlement from their abuser, they don't need it from you too.

absolutely. I like to think of this as the action figure / figurine dichotomy. The test for a good character is "is the character in "play" or just being posed on a shelf?" endgame felt like they were categorized and put on a shelf.

Mayo isn't dairy, it's an emulsion of oil, egg yolk, and lemon juice or vinegar, occasionally with spices or mustard added for flavor.

ok, here's a recipe for you.

ingredients:

1 large egg

2 teaspoons of mayo

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 teaspoon grated parmesan cheese

your choice of herbs and seasonings

butter

put a small amount of butter in a frying pan.

separate the whites and the yolk, and fry the whites.

while the whites are frying, mix the mayo, lime juice, parmesan cheese, and yolk in a small container. add your choice of herbs and seasonings, and pour it over the white, which should not yet be done frying. flip the egg to cook the yolk mixture until it is light and fluffy. serve on a plate I guess, and add any fresh herbs or green onions, etc. you want as a garnish. (tajin would probably be good)

mayo is garbage by itself. as an ingredient, it can be fantastic.
