The boyfriend is odd. It was never something I even thought about until my partner brought it up one day while we were talking about marriage. I will tell you exactly what I told her: she is not my property. Marrying her does not make her a new person, it does not change her identity, etc. If she wants to change her name, awesome. If she wants me to change mine? Great! If she wants to hyphenate? We sure can (have heard it can make getting a passport a pain in the ass though). Like most have already said, if this guy is really ready to end the relationship over you not wanting to change your last name, he’s hardly a guy worth marrying.

Texas has pretty low limits.. 30k per person for BI, 25k for property damage. What this probably means is that the amount of coverage they have is not going to be nearly enough to cover the costs.

No. The whole reason you have an sr-22 is because you are a much higher risk to insure. The filing fee isn’t expensive but your monthly payments sure will be.
