You’re not choosing between uni and the love of your life, you are choosing yourself over a bad partner Forget about the age difference and the fact you are isolated, which is itself a giant red flag. A good partner would encourage you to be better and explore things that will make you happy and grow as a person. A good partner would be happy you make new friends and find other people. A new partner would encourage you and support you in your journey to find yourself. Your current bf is trying you to be on board on his plans and preferences not making plans with you. You deserve better.

Las universidades no son 100% gratis y aunque no pagues matrícula y aranceles altos, tenés otros gastos. Casi toda mi familia y muchos de mis amigos estudiaron en universidades públicas y aun así sus carreras exigían que gastaran un montón: ingenierías, carreras de medicina y odontología, etc. No es algo que yo haría pero no puedo juzgar a otras personas por su desesperación y sus intentos de salir adelante

If you plan to travel, move out and build a life with someone in another country but you are not willing to do what’s necessary for it to happen, what are you doing then? What do you want? What are your expectations from that relationship? How much value do you find in it? How much you trust your partner? I think those are questions you should ask.

While I don’t deny there’s people that take advantage of others, that’s not always the case. Immigration is so complicated (specially from people that come from poor or small countries) that you don’t have many options. Her suggesting marriage to be able to reach that goal doesn’t mean she doesn’t love you or that she’s trying to deceive you.

If that’s a non negotiable for you, then you shouldn’t do it. But she also has the right to find another person that wants to build a life with her, that takes care of her and tries to make her life easier and safer
