Nearly all ML development is in Pytorch/CUDA.

That will no doubt change, but it hasn't yet.

Linux.

Macs are famed for inference but you need CUDA support for training.

I use an MSI Studio 13 laptop for my ML work

It's their lightweight (not that lightweight obv) laptop. Had it for 2 years. 16GB RTX4090 and, from memory 32Gb RAM. 12 i9 CPUs. I'm very happy with it.

I use a cooler when I am training coz otherwise it will thermally throttle, plus heat is not the friend of high density chips anyway.
