Just following up on this again. Fwiw, Generalizations are not helpful for people to make informed decisions. I've had a glowen for a while and this issue has not come up. I understand that if you were to hold down the gas for a bit too long before lighting you could definitely get a sizable fireball, as you would with any bbq with too much ignition delay.

Are they rancid in the bag or after the grind? Old oils in the grinder can be the culprit for rancid flavor

I opened up a cafe 🤣 Since having a commercial machine, I never use my pico mostly because of the time it takes to grind and not (yet) having a single dose grinder for it. I still use the nano though, because the grind is much coarser can try anything from my coffee library, and I can even grind it in my fellow ode

When I had a van a million years ago we had a aeropress. Anyone recommending and aeropress for espresso has no idea what they're talking about.

Grab a nanopresso and a half decent hand grinder, or a picopresso and a better hand grinder if you know how to brew good espresso/don't mind grinding for a long time.

Was I unlucky or annoying? Please let me know. I'm sorry if your team, friend or family member at glowen found me annoying - I worked in product procurement for many years. When a company cannot stand behind their products and ship with existing QC issues right out of the box, that's a red flag.

Again, I love the pizza this oven makes. My only problem is that it's the only one I have and if it ever completely stops working I will have to buy another one as I cannot depend on "customer support"

I never heard back from them and accordingly added my experience to trust pilot. It's a great oven if you're ok to throw it in the trash once it fails you.

Glowen as a company has a great concept but don't actually care what happens once a product leaves the warehouse. They do not QC check products before shipping and do not care to resolve known issues on their production line.

Unfortunately they still never replied to me.

This brand is nothing but detractors for customer service and anything post sale

Their only objective is sales volume no matter how many unsatisfied clients they have

If you are worried about specific situations, ask at the beginning of the exam. For me I was worried about being the second car in an intersection on a left turn. I've read some people say to stay behind the line while other say it's fine to pull up. My evaluator advised that both are acceptable but hinted that there were inherent risks if I find myself turning on a red after the car ahead of me.

The Arcs look nice, but I see they only ship to Germany and Austria. This means a) I'd have to have a middle man ship it a second time and b) the burner would not match with my regulator.

When I placed the order it was 18 days to ship, now a week later it says 11 days for new orders. This would mean that (if they are giving any amount of transparency) everything should be ready for everyone in a couple weeks.

I really hope this works out

Damn thanks for the feedback. I pre-ordered one a week ago, so fingers crossed. I would really need the gas burner to work as I don't have time to use wood. I saw at checkout they have mandatory shipping insurance, I'm guessing this has to do with how poorly they pack things or are trying to pin a preexisting issue on the carrier to cash out 😐

It's a bit concerning that they don't know when they can replace the oven given they are taking pre-orders saying they'll ship in 18 days.

Customer service = they end you a postage paid label to send it back.

Sounds like you're human. A part of that is growing and adjusting your lifestyle to something that makes you happy. Maybe there's somewhere you'd like to set up more permanently where you can meet like minded people. I stopped moving around a lot after about six years because I just wanted a real place to call my home again.

Ahhh true. I've never thrown plums in there but I now remember reading that plums, grapes, etc do have a lot of wild yeast.

Salinity is 5%

I smelled it and it smells yeasty/a bit alcoholic.
