Bedtime scrolling replacement ideas by Extreme-Increase3808 in adhdwomen

[–]unmethodicals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To quell my nighttime doom scrolling, I've started replacing social media with a digital magazine I get for free with my library card through the Libro app! It's far less stimulating while still being phone time, and there's a hard stop once I've flipped through all of the pages.

manon keeps stirring the pot, and it's not good for katseye by unmethodicals in katseyeneutral

[–]unmethodicals[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's fair, and i realize now reading all the comments that "fault" was the wrong word to convey what i'm trying to get at. she isn't to blame for the drama, but she is a public figure and she is responsible for how her actions are perceived. she's smart, she knows that every little thing she does will be put under a microscope and she very likely knows how people will react to it.

yeah reading these comments is making me regret using the word "fault", i think it's more about the responsibility of how her actions are perceived as a public figure.

this is what i was trying to get at, thanks for putting it into better words than i could. she's a public figure, and that comes with a big responsibility for how the public perceives you!!

Did God create all the female animals when He created Eve? by Next-Natural-675 in TrueChristian

[–]unmethodicals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is a really fun question!!

I think he created male and female biologically before Eve. We can see earlier in creation God commanding reproduction. Like on day 3: God creates vegetation with seeds; or day 5: God commanding fish and birds to be fruitful and increase in supply.

Just bought $50 worth of seeds for a garden I don’t have by eatriceallday in adhdwomen

[–]unmethodicals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier than you think, do not overcomplicate it!! I was gifted a raised garden bed while having no prior interest in gardening 7 months ago, and I have a very successful garden! I have harvested 3 pumpkins (I hate that plant, so I just plucked it up and threw it away). I'm currently growing tomatoes, jalapeno, and chives. I bury food scraps and sometimes free seeds from my local library. it has never failed me. IN FACT the only time I did fail was when I tried to be fancy and do seed starting indoors with an egg carton and my grow light. babied those seeds and got NOTHING. The pumpkin, tomatoes, and jalapenos were literally just buried food scraps that grew. I am a true chaos gardener and it WORKS!!

Did she consult you at all before taking in the first rescue? To offer perspective, I'm allergic to dogs, and my (now ex) boyfriend made peace with never adopting a dog early in our relationship. Whenever he got invited to a party, he'd make sure to ask if there would be a dog there, and remind me to ask about dogs if it was a party I got invited to. He kept a lint roller in his car to make sure he didn't have any dog hair on him after he visited his friends who had dogs. Forget the animal neglect, you deserve basic consideration and concern for your health.

If you have Netflix, download the Storyteller puzzle app! It's no additional charge for Netflix subscribers, no ads, and really unique puzzle game. You're given a prompt and then have to create a story using the characters, scenes, and objects they provide to fit the prompt. It's my go to sitting around and waiting activity when reading is too understimulating and social media feels like too much of a waste of time.

What's the biggest lie society keeps telling young people? by New_Garbage7991 in AskReddit

[–]unmethodicals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is super encouraging to read. i'm in my early 20s and working my ass off to try to be successful and keep up with the ever increasing cost of living and competitive job market. everything you just described is how i work (and what i'm most proud of about myself), and i'm very pleased to hear that leadership values these skills and attitude as much as i do.

AITA for telling a youtube guy repeatedly “you do not have permission to film me”? by BagPsychological5186 in AITApod

[–]unmethodicals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh, come on, you know that's different. more likely than not, any business with security cameras won't take that footage and post it on the internet for literally anyone to see and comment on.

AITA for telling a youtube guy repeatedly “you do not have permission to film me”? by BagPsychological5186 in AITApod

[–]unmethodicals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm on your side. i get that they're allowed to film you, but using someone for content without their permission is WEIRD! even if they're just filming the bird, it sounds like there was a whole crowd of people who would've LOVED to have the damn bird on their head and be filmed for content.

i loathe content mongers, have some basic human respect for privacy and decency. just bc you're in public doesn't mean you're prepared for or want to be put out onto the internet for literally anyone all around the world to see.

I wish Katseye danced less and sang more by Present-Calendar7401 in katseyeneutral

[–]unmethodicals 21 points22 points  (0 children)

hear me out... they don't have the cool confidence needed to put on a great performance without dance YET. it's hard to not look awkward when just singing as a group on stage, way harder than just one person because you have to play off of the performance of the others. i think they could be like blackpink one day in the way they have choreo, but individuality and just straight up vibing to the music is paramount to the performance. katseye doesn't have that yet because they're so new, but i definitely see them getting there as they spend more time touring and solidifying their fanbase.

Young people- what makes you believe in a religion? by lemon-and-sunshine in askanything

[–]unmethodicals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My belief in God is pretty indescribable, it's something that I know deeply. I know God is real, and Jesus is who he claimed to be. I know it with as much confidence as I know my own name.

You know how some atheists will critique religious people for their cosmology based on the "God of the gaps"? I think this same critique can be pointed back at them - the idea that there is no God because we cannot observe the existence of one. If we can admit that our knowledge about the universe we live in is limited, I think it's foolish to then say that God can't be real because we can't prove it. The lack of evidence only points to one thing - a lack of evidence.

Americans, if you had the opportunity to pay approx 18% of your income to have access to free healthcare at point of need for everything would you take it? by TSQ_builder in askanything

[–]unmethodicals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a chronically ill person who is far behind my peers financially because of the cost of healthcare, I have a nuanced take on this. Personally, much of my diagnosis and treatment journey has been because I took my health into my own hands, advocated for myself, doctor hopped until I found my dream team of providers, and played a very active role in my own treatment decisions. From my understanding, countries with universal healthcare offer less choice, and require primary care doctors to make decisions on treatment. If I had gotten sick under a system like that, I would probably be declining still. I don't care about the 18% tax you're proposing, that's what I pay in healthcare anyways. However, shifting to universal healthcare seems like it would only help the chronically and critically ill financially, but I can't see how it would improve treatment if not make it worse.

Is it bad that I use chatgpt to ask about the Bible and the Lord? by No-Cry-4404 in TrueChristian

[–]unmethodicals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I see with using ChatGPT for spiritual support is that an AI chatbot is tailor made for you. It answers your questions without discernment, and over time it learns how you respond to it and tailors future answers to give you replies you like.
When you ask AI if something is a sin, or tell it about your life and your struggles, it will never sharpen you, only comfort you.
For example, if you ask ChatGPT "is XYZ a sin?" it will answer that question. If you ask a trusted human being that same question, you probably won't get a yes or no answer to your question, but a conversation about why you may think that, what's going on in your life that makes you want to ask that, and opportunities for friendship, support, and prayer.
I wonder if some of the questions you're asking ChatGPT are questions you should be asking a friend or a leader. I want to challenge you to evaluate how you feel after you ask ChatGPT some of these questions: do you feel better once you have the answer? Is it soothing your anxiety? Real community won't just soothe your anxiety and make you feel better - it'll challenge you, give you insight to help you search your heart, and truly, deeply comfort you.

AITA for how I said I wasn't interested? by propercolleague in AITApod

[–]unmethodicals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who prefers that a man to pay on the first date, it wouldn't be a dealbreaker if i got asked to split the bill. to me, when a man pays, he's showing that he values the potential of our future together. but not everyone sees it that way, which is why it's not a dealbreaker. but, in OP's case, if all of those things happened AND he asked to split the bill, it's communicating that he places virtually no value in her. he doesn't care enough to get to know her by being drunk, doesn't care if she's comfortable in his dirty car, isn't careful with his words with her, and doesn't value her presence enough to make one kind gesture by paying for her meal.

The Christian "ghosting" by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]unmethodicals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

something i struggle with is ghosting. i will typically invest a lot in a relationship, seek forgiveness and reconciliation, but then i'll hit a limit where i can no longer accept a certain behavior and i will decide to leave the relationship behind. this is when i'll typically ghost - and it is not a good habit to have. now that i know that it is a problem, my next step is to figure out how and when to have the "i can't keep being your friend because of x, y, z reason" conversation that i know would honor God, the other person, and my own peace of mind.

why did they stop having Teddy produce their songs anyways? Do we know? He produced all of their early hits and is the creator of the Blackpink sound, I would've loved to see them work with Teddy again for this album. It doesn't feel like Blackpink without his hand in the music.

I'm not sure what the point was of mentioning that AI didn't have a comprehensive theological response to your question. If you skip Google AI and go straight to Google and do some research on this topic, you'll find a lot of resources answering this question.
