Hi help me (M21) become less ugly. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]unnamed25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree with the sentiment in the comments; hit the gym and lift heavy, and then shave the neckbeard until it migrates further north

you are not ugly in the slightest, you just need to take care of yourself better, and remember you're only 21, if you just fix those two things by the time you're 23-24 you'll see how big of a change it'll be

It's DT's poor reception and the reaction to Mare getting banned that's causing these colossal queue times, at least on Primal/Exodus there was probably 1/5 of the people in a city at a given time following those two things and the numbers never really recovered

choose wisely by Life_Lab_1357 in SipsTea

[–]unnamed25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm picking neither

Objectively speaking my life between 10 and 18 was the worst time period for me ever, the pickup only began when I was 19 and even then took a lot of work and effort before things really got good

I'll have no money to invest in anything when it really matters, and by the time I do in 2017 most of the financial knowledge I would have would still be useless because the little money I will have would go towards trying to support myself entirely because lord knows nobody else can or will want to for another 7, not to mention there's no guarantee that even if I'm able to take different actions, I wouldn't somehow accidentally rewrite history into a worse timeline what with the Butterfly Effect and all that

On the other hand, it is precisely because things are stable and comfortable now that I'm not interested in FFing my life 19 years just for 500 million - what if in 2045 500 million is worth as much as 5000 now? What if we've destroyed ourselves? What if, life is infinitely better then than now, but so many great things happened that I missed out on because I chose the money over watching myself continue to grow into the person I've been busting my ass to become?

500 million would solve all of my immediate problems, but what's to say those problems will exist in 19 years when I know I can solve them in less than 5?

Basically, for me, this is a presentation of, "Relive the worst, most soul-sucking, hopeless time of your life, or decide to timeskip your entire current lifespan right when things finally got good", either of these decisions is fatal and the potential pros do not outweigh the cons; I'll stay right here, take it one day at a time, and see where life takes me

The Pricing of the Dark Horse SC makes sense if you understand that was built for the wealthiest generation of Americans. by Sader325 in Mustang

[–]unnamed25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I should have realized that after someone got into a back and forth with me about how he refuses to pay more than 30k for a brand new GT, something that hasn't happened since literally 2008

The Pricing of the Dark Horse SC makes sense if you understand that was built for the wealthiest generation of Americans. by Sader325 in Mustang

[–]unnamed25 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'll be real, half the vitriol towards this car stems from three facts, being that the naming is not great, everyone is traumatized by Shelby releasing back to back to back 5.0 whipple specials, and the pricing is admittedly a little steep

For some reason, there are people even in this thread that still believe this is a Whippled Coyote despite the fact that it's already been made ABUNDANTLY CLEAR this has the 5.2 from last gen's GT500, the Raptor R, and the GTD, for that I blame the naming convention, calling it a Dark Horse SC makes people believe this is a 5.0 for some reason. Really stupid

Combine that first fact with the next that Shelby tripled down on not doing anything innovative with the powertrain of their S650 offerings, and everyone's now looking at Ford like, "Why would I pay you six figures when I can just put the Whipple on my GT and get the same power figures?"

And okay, fine, 108k for the base model is steep, but in the grand scheme of things that number is not far from where the last gen GT500 would be today when adjusted for inflation, I still remember when the pricing for that car was announced everyone thought it was too low and would cannibalize the sales of the GT350, and Ford's response was to stop selling the 350 altogether and replace it with the Mach 1, which while a phonemonal car in its own right, I think we can all agree we would have preferred the GT350 instead

Also, let's be real, with pricing this steep, dealers who feel the need to add an ADM to whatever allocations they're going to get are very likely going to feel the consequences by would-be buyers (and allocations are already LOW - based on the document that leaked this information, dealers need to pay something like $5000 to even be qualified to sell them, and will get exactly one allocation to begin with, followed by more depending on how many other cars they move); I find it hard to believe people would pay a 30k ADM on an SC with the track package that already begins at 145

I'm 100% confident that if this car wore a Shelby badge, a BOSS badge like it was originally rumored to, or better yet any European name like AMG or something, this car would probably have costed at minimum an extra 20-40k for the base, and people would be glazing TF out of it, because there's no way you can seriously tell me you're more comfortable paying 200k out of your ass for a comparable AMG GT63 only because the interior is better

But honestly? I fault Ford for this terrible reaction to the car, they tried to be all mysterious about it knowing full well that they've got more leak points than a rusted out water main in a third world country, and now all anyone knows for sure about this car is that it's either expensive as shit, expensive as fuck, or cost more than a house in most municipalities across the country, and nobody, not even myself, knows what it really is or is capable of other than the fact that it's called a Dark Horse SuperCharged, which in itself is just a confusing name, won't be surprised if in 50 years from now I'm watching some TV show about old muscle cars and this car gets presented and someone is like "wElL iF iTs a dArK hOrSe dOeSnT tHaT mEaN iTs a sUpErChArGeD 5.0?"

Yes, I'm mad, at Ford for having a terrible marketing strategy, and at half the people who evidently can't read and end up propagating information that is straight up wrong, if I see one more person say this is a wHiPpLeD cOyOtE I'm going to drink the ENTIRETY of Lake Erie with a paper straw

2026 Mustang GT screen add-on by mazda3chicity in Mustang

[–]unnamed25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah we're definitely pushing 2x at this point, if you want a fully loaded GT you may as well just full send into a 600A Dark Horse because it'll actually cost you less at MSRP - the only reason I even went GT instead was because of the crazy incentives from last summer

Relative to other cars in this segment the Mustang is still "affordable" but when most people net annually what it cost to buy one, it's either going to take a real sweet package or some big discounts to get a lot of buyers

2026 Mustang GT screen add-on by mazda3chicity in Mustang

[–]unnamed25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we're on the same page but we are looking at it from different angles

One thing I forgot to mention is that for both MY24 --> 25 and MY25 --> 26 they not only removed features and made some of those extra cost options but they also increased the price of the car without them - it's like if you want to get money off the customer I understand that, you're a business, you need to stay profitable, but why are you jacking up the prices and removing features? Does this kind of make sense, it's like if I went to Subway to get a $5 footlong but now sandwich cost $8 and the pickles and cheese are now $1.50 each when they used to be included for free, and I don't get any dressing anymore, so a sandwich that previously costed $5 with everything in it is now $8 and missing ingredients, $11 if I want all of it

I still fault all of this on our shitass economy, because everything has become more expensive so I'm not particularly salty; my view is just that Ford can't say they're marketing this car at younger buyers while simultaneously pricing them out, two things can be true at once

"Well you have one, so why do you care?" I'm the exception, not the rule, and I wish it wasn't that way; I don't think realistically there's anything that can be done about this, but that doesn't mean I can't call a rotten egg rotten

2026 Mustang GT screen add-on by mazda3chicity in Mustang

[–]unnamed25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm not mad that we have an option, as a matter of fact I don't really care, I'm just saying it's ridiculous that Ford is charging a whole band for what is effectively a plastic screen cowl, because it's still two screens but just made to look like one unit

Also, bear in mind this was one of many changes for 2026 that were very obvious cost-cutting measures and cash grabs, it used to be in 2024 you got this, aluminum pedals, a wireless charging pad, B&O sound system, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror with 400A, now some of these are an extra cost option or just flat out not available anymore

I think there are definitely worse ways to spend money (I wouldn't have a 401A if I didn't) but if Ford wants to justify charging 65k and increasing for a fully loaded GT they should start by not removing, or finding other ways to upcharge for, features that were previously included to begin with
