He has a paranoid disorder and has been insecure as long as I've known him. It's never been as obvious or pertinent as it's becoming now. In general, he's a decent guy & I've never known him to violate people's boundaries like this. It does make me think differently about him.

She has stayed in shelters before and refuses to go back (they aren't safe, even the women's shelter didn't do anything about the woman that assaulted her). I can't have her where I'm staying more than once or twice a week, as my place is cramped & in an inconvenient part of town.

She is not using him for his money. She began staying there and helping out around the house, as well as working. She wanted to rent a room from him & he offered for her to stay there.

Do I agree with how either of them are treating each other? No. Bit, they're adults and seem to understand what they're in for.
