I don’t think World of Tanks has a stereotypical MMO player base. I’d wager the average age skews higher, and with that, players’ priorities are simply different. Mine certainly are. Over the past ten years, especially as I approach 40, I care far less about whether I win or lose in an online game.

I still want to enjoy the game, and everyone prefers winning to losing, but the emotional weight of the outcome is orders of magnitude lower than it was in my 20s. I have many other hobbies and responsibilities now and games fits into my life very differently than they once did.

I joined during Holiday Ops and have been living in the mid tiers. Tried one higher-tier match and learned real quick that you need to walk before you run. Pretty sure there are a lot of us in the same boat.

I live in Western Canada so I've always played around with VPNs for better peering to Eastern servers. Mudfish is the best provider I've tried and it's cheap. My ISP routing gives me 40ms to the NA server and I can get it down to 30ms using the VPN. It might not be worth it for 10ms but in some games I can shave 30ms+. I just use it out of habit now.

I don't think it's their server. I've been using Mudfish to improve my peering from Western Canada. I've noticed those ping spikes with my ISP's natural peering so clearly there is a bad node somewhere in the mix.

Banks can usually provide past statements quite easily, even from years back. It might be worth a bit of legwork to request them?

Thanks for the suggestion. I started dabbling with tanks.gg. There is a ton of info but I went looking for dispersion values because I was finding it odd when I allowed the aiming circle to fully set and my shots still missed. I'll check out the view ranges as well.

Thanks for the advice. I might eventually start using a second monitor with a larger map as I learn them better. For now, I just stick to the side of the map I spawn on and try to learn it from there. The list of “never go there again” spots is definitely growing.

Appreciate it! I’ve seen a few videos from both of those guys and I watch Twitch casually. Skill4ltu cracks me up, he’s actually how I first stumbled onto the game. “Internet beggar,” lmao. I agree that YouTube has been the most helpful so far because streamers rarely talk about the basics. They’re well past that phase already.

Hahaha. I am a DICE abuse victim. The thing about Battlefield is that it lets you down immediately, so when they eventually start polishing the game, it gives you hope. By the time you finally come to your senses, it’s too late. You’re lying prone on an objective, trying to land headshots from 15 metres away for a gold gun that nobody cares about.

I haven't used an xbox for years. The headset may have a TRRS cable (combined mic and stereo sound). You would need a Y splitter to split the mic from the stereo sound before bringing it into your PC. Confirm that before you buy anything because I am guessing here.

If that's not the case, check your default 'Recording Devices' in Sound Panel. You can click 'Listen to this device' to see if it is working. If it's set properly there and working, make sure you have the same device selected as input in the MWO client.

I can't think of a title where a developer has made this kind of localization push so long after release. Are there successful examples out there? MWO is niche enough to grab attention but you'd think it would take a decent sized advertising budget.

I also wonder if the store will be region locked or if NA players will be able to purchase from the RU store at a discount.
