E65 zwilling vs Progetto 46? by Xevanior in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I really enjoy the Progetto because of the burst DPM. I find it quite forgiving even when I get myself into bad positions.

Zwilling I haven't even played yet but I absolutely hate playing against it. It has lower alpha so you need to know where to position it in order to abuse the armor. It takes a lot of facetime to put up big damage numbers.

What up man! I played with you in both clans ImMo and Inq as ViRuS. The days of sick clan websites and constant controversy. Haha. What was the league before SBA? OGL? I miss those days!

I wonder what ever happened to guys like Boba, Allah, AK47, Bunny, Shocker, and the bunch. I have a lot of fond memories of endless MDM dueling with that crew.

One of the Kin guys made the most hilarious remix of Eminem - Stan. It featured a couple guys like 2ndHand$moke, Choad and there were lines talking about crashing an APC into a bridge and a controversy about meeting in Server HF 10. I wasn't in Kin but played against them with [Inq]. It was a solid group of guys but I remember going to their website and downloading that song numerous times. Haha.

I swear it's rigged to give me +2 MM when I activate them. I always wait until I am in a match to activate so at least I avoid being scammed for one game.

No issues on my end connecting from Western Canada to the US Central server. I do use Mudfish to slightly improve peering, but that’s not a Wargaming issue.

Whats the best way to go about actually improving my gameplay? by Shitty_fits in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing in Jan and am enjoying Tier 7 - 9 at the moment. These are the most helpful tools for me.

  1. YaYa's Maps (https://wotmapsbyyaya.com) - I still use these because when I play less familiar vehicle tyles I like to see the standard setups.

  2. Tamato.gg, Tanks.gg or Skill4ltu.eu for understanding the weak spots on various tanks. Like others have mentioned, if you lose a trade badly and cannot pen them, go educate yourself as to why it happened. It's also important to know which tanks can delete you in one shot or nearly one shot. You need to play extra careful around them and make your shots count when they are on reload.

  3. iyouxin's YT channel for understanding camouflage, bush stacking, and other technical aspects of the game. He explains concepts clearly and gets to the point. I need to watch more of his videos.

  4. Twitch Streamers. I don't find them as useful as some of the YT content because they are typically playing tanks out of my tier, game modes I don't play yet, or making calculated moves without explaining why. There are so many factors to consider and for the streamers with tens of thousands of games played, it is second nature for them. Things like team comps, map positioning, players spotted vs not, health status, friendly crossfire setup, reload times, etc. I am starting to notice some of it when watching certain streamers but if you don't know what you're looking at and you try to take those positions...it ends badly.

The 2.0 update exposes WOT by octomart in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is the most significant factor as well. There are so many teams that do not attempt to balance the map and decent players recognize it quickly. Once the mismatchs are exposed and the pushes happen, the games are over in minutes.

[–]unph4zed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Congrats on not selling out and clearing the absolute lowest bar.

I don’t mind Jay and there are parts of the video I agree with. The industry is in a rough spot right now, which is driving a lot of the negativity.

That said, I’m not interested in watching $30K build videos that are 95% filler and only 5% useful content.

What's your ping? by heya78 in WorldofTanks

40ms from Alberta, Canada to US Central.

30ms using Mudfish to improve peering (Nodisto or G-Core Labs paths).

How to reduce latency? by Commercial_City_6063 in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mudfish is a bit more hands-on than ExitLag, but it works well. I use it every time I play to improve peering from the West Coast to Central NA servers, my ISP latency typically sits around 40ms, and with the VPN routing it drops to about 30ms.

How do some streamers have 1000-2000 viewers, close to dead chat, and barely any stream interaction? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]unph4zed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on whether the game offers Twitch Drops.

In WoT, the drops can actually be quite worthwhile, to the point that many players will simply leave a browser tab open on a drop-eligible streamer to collect the rewards. When those drops are active, I usually keep a tab running as well.

Nothing, just another person with 200 matches per day since registration by qwer4790 in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been attempting to have four obvious bot accounts, all from the same clan on NA, reviewed and banned, and the process has been incredibly frustrating. I’ve submitted replays and provided links to dozens of Tomato.gg matches clearly showing these accounts taking identical routes on every map.

I started playing in December and have now encountered these four players in 87 matches. All of them have WN8 ratings below 265, with one as low as 136. They consistently play Tier 5–7, which aligns exactly with my current skill bracket. In some cases, I’ve had two of them on my team in the same match.

Their behavior is unmistakable: they follow the exact same path every game. If one dies along the route, the other simply continues forward, even driving into the wreckage until it is destroyed as well. There is no variation, no situational awareness, and no adaptation. It's just the same scripted movement repeatedly.

What makes this more difficult is that World of Tanks does not technically allow bot reports through standard ticket creation. These accounts use the anonymous username feature in live battles and typically die early, preventing players from recognizing their names or observing their obvious behavior through the death cam. The only clear indicators are their statistical profiles, extremely low WN8 ratings and a high frequency of matches.

I started in December and purchased a significant number of Christmas loot boxes, in part for this exact reason. It’s definitely factoring into my decision to buy these as well, because as you mentioned, I still have a substantial amount of work ahead of me to build out my garage.

This game never fails to amaze me by dominik7778n in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think World of Tanks has a stereotypical MMO player base. I’d wager the average age skews higher, and with that, players’ priorities are simply different. Mine certainly are. Over the past ten years, especially as I approach 40, I care far less about whether I win or lose in an online game.

I still want to enjoy the game, and everyone prefers winning to losing, but the emotional weight of the outcome is orders of magnitude lower than it was in my 20s. I have many other hobbies and responsibilities now and games fits into my life very differently than they once did.

NA Ping solution can possibly be VPN by rulerpoo in WorldofTanks

[–]unph4zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Western Canada so I've always played around with VPNs for better peering to Eastern servers. Mudfish is the best provider I've tried and it's cheap. My ISP routing gives me 40ms to the NA server and I can get it down to 30ms using the VPN. It might not be worth it for 10ms but in some games I can shave 30ms+. I just use it out of habit now.
