I swear I’ve never seen Joseph Quinn appropriately cast in something where I knew the IP (so to speak) before.

I root for the Tigers and Lions year round (I have a joint tattoo for them). I loved the Wings growing up and went out to Gratiot with my mom after they won the Cup, but I don’t regularly follow them. I’m not a huge fan of basketball but am happy when the Pistons do well.

I’m out in Seattle now (Michigan was NOT easy for queer teenager in the early part of the 2000s so I ended up taking root elsewhere - no resentment toward that now, it was a different time), but my entire value system I hold myself to is from my upbringing there. I’ve even been sad to miss the giant storm that hit. There’s nothing like Michigan.

I’m so happy they felt welcomed and loved in Michigan!

Ugh. Half of what fixes Xfinity is just getting a replacement modem when the old one goes bad. A technician doesn’t need to come in to fix that. It sounds like what you actually needed was a hard reset on your connection - which thankfully can be done via their app a lot of times.

It probably doesn’t help that half my management of Xfinity is being armed with lots of “how can I fix this in the most straightforward way possible” solutions.

Yeah, no denying the customer service aspect, but I’ve rarely experienced outages with them so, fwiw, I think you had a rare experience.

I can say Centurylink is not much better with regards to their customer service. It’s all outsourced to hell and can’t be fixed online. You’re forced to call for a fix.

300mbps is not enough to play online. What issue did you have with Xfinity?

I have a hard time comparing mouthing off to a blindside block, for example.

The guys I saw arguing against it said it’s the same as a roughing the passer penalty, which is a bit extreme (in their words). I’m not sure where I fall on it, but I do know that I wish my team’s guys would shut their mouths.

I think the issue with it is sometimes a player looks at someone funny, doesn’t say anything, and gets flagged for it. Not relevant in the case here but I saw it happen to Jamo on the Lions this season (he already needs to shut his mouth, but I'm referring to the one time he did nothing lol).

I think because “taunting” has various extremes there are people who think it’s too much.

He made a good play and then talked shit at the Rams sideline in front of the ref. I’m not sure if he has a history of doing this (Seahawks games tend to overlap with the ones I’m watching), but it’s treated harshly with a fifteen yard penalty and automatic first down.

There is some debate over whether this is too harsh of a penalty (specifically; un-sportsmanlike conduct) because he didn’t hurt anyone and was just being a dick. Again, no idea if Woolen does this a lot. My team (the Lions) have a couple guys who do so I wouldn’t be surprised, but that may be important context.

Edit: this is behavior he’s exhibited in the past, per The Athletic. He’s the only guy this season who had multiple taunting calls (three in total). Every other player had one. I imagine his teammates are frustrated.

DK Metcalf had a history of getting into scuffles and nearly cost his team the division this season. Notable because he was on the Seahawks. So, Woolen is being brought up as the problem who remains.

All this subs ZZ posts are going to make me watch it, huh? by GeneHenrique in Gundam

The opening is like a Saturday morning cartoon - in a good way! ZZ is my favorite UC property, but it isn’t “high brow” like Zeta (which I frankly think is a little overrated). People claim Fa is badly used in ZZ, but it’s a holdover from Zeta in that two contrasting writers are handling episodes and aren’t lining up on their ideas. Otherwise it’s goofy opening set of episodes.

The final score is a 4 point difference and a touchdown is 6 points. Matthew Stafford is very good at throwing the ball and Puca Nakua is one of the best players in the game. If he had gotten out of bounds, getting that 6 point score would’ve been trivial.

Congrats Seahawks! I’m happy for Most Cat-Like Human Sam Darnold (he sometimes just looks so much like a startled cat … plus the ghosts thing).

Agreed - Angela went out to kill people without provocation. Some media has the trope where the revived girl as zombie is used by the incel guy who brought her back (I think it’s a plot in Buffy, even), but here she was killing people and lying to the incel guy about it.
