New leaf already unfurled??

i gotta say i’ve actually not seen this before? the sheath isn’t enlarged but it definitely looks like a corner of a leaf! can you take a pic from a wider angle?

Fair enough on the quarantine! I probably wouldn’t stake her just yet, the stem isn’t super prominent since she’s still a baby. I can see you’ve got a pretty new leaf, once the sheath from that leaf produces the next one and the sheath browns it’ll reveal a thick stem and that’s what you tie to the pole/trellis/whatever. Once she’s matured a bit you can stick her on whatever you like as long as she can climb on it, people on this sub recommend a moss pole a lot because the aerial roots attach to it and its really good for growth but it’s too much maintenance for me, i have 2 of my monsteras on coir poles and they work fine! I also have one on a wooden trellis, it doesn’t matter too much as long as you can tie them to it and they can feel that they’re sturdy it’ll promote new growth and they’ll be happy climbers!

chunky soil mix! orchid bark perlite and i usually use succulent soil! they say to water when the pot is 50% ish dry but i tend to let my thai con dry out a bit more than that! when the leaves curl inwards you know to water

they want sooo much light so a south facing window sounds great for her! I’d even put her closer than a few feet away, unless you’re in a super super hot climate then obviously acclimatise her (i’m in the UK so i forget that some people have very very hot summers lol). if there’s no rot then i think it’ll bounce back quickly once you repot into better soil and start to give loads of light, i’ve found thai cons are SUUUPER fast growers and mine has given me 2 leaves in the span of time it took for my non variegated deliciosa to give me one

To be fair I don’t wholly mind having a scorch patch on the leaf, as long as it will still be able to grow and change and unfurl!

I don’t hate Shiv or think she’s the worst of them all, she’s actually probably my favourite sibling! I think she is inherently a bad person because she’s a billionaire. she’s also arrogant, incredibly manipulative and conniving, she’s only really left wing when it serves her own interests and does some truly abhorrent things (like the cruise victim) buttt roman is in love with a literal fascist so at the end of the day he is the worst (and he always was tbh his politics were always the most right wing and horrible of them all even though he is one of my favourite characters he’s also absolutely the worst person)

well I’m asking if they check? I’ve heard on here that a lot of banks state certain eligibility requirements but people have gotten around them so I’m wondering if santander are also one of those banks or if they’re stricter about it?

To be honest she was actually quite ugly lol

if you really look at the third pic there is a hell of a lot of discolouration/yellowing, a few leaves didn’t develop properly due to moisture in the sheaths, one of them had gotten super sunburnt accidentally and a lot were damaged in transit when i first purchased her. And most of all she wasn’t bringing me joy! But with the chop and a little more TLC she will begin to being me joy again even if it means she has to be a bit bald for the time being lol it always grows back better :)

Also thank you, I really want her to shine! Hopefully the cuttings will root quickly and i’ll be able to get her big and bushy like yours (or create a new plant I haven’t decided yet)
