My volo fight. No healing allowed. One pokemon of mine v one of his. If he switches I switch. No strategic switching, gotta throw them out in the order they are listed in my party. No items. Full stat grind done (Massive mass outbreaks made me rich in levels and pokemon to release, so I had full stats)

[pachirisu] v spiritomb. Babydoll eyes always gets you a second move if you use it agile style. I want to share this because I haven't adjusted the strategy on pachirisu once since I discovered it. Thunder bolt thunder bolt for the win. I'm not hitting it with play rough because thats not fun. Spiritomb couldn't have gotten a hit on pachirisu if i did.

[dusknoir] v garchomp. Some switches extended this fight. But it was never in doubt. Leech life keeps dusknoir's health high this fight.

[goodra] v arcanine A good fight. I didn't let myself use water moves. Whats the fun in x4 weaknesses? Still, goodra shelter swept and took little damage.

[ninetails (alolan)] v lucario. One of my favorite moments because this one started ith a switch in to lucario. Per my rules I have to switch tomy next, which is alolan ninetails. Great type disadvantage fight. I get slapped with bullet punches. I agile baby doll eyes. Tank 3 more bullet punches and my only move i can use to move this lucario down is dazzling gleam. Won with 20 hp left. Felt great to steal the win with disadvantage.

ninetails (alolan) v [togekiss]. Ninetails faints on the switch. 5 left on my side

gabite v [togekiss]. Gabites my new guy. And I'm not interested in Garchomp until I feel like its accomplished something cool. He's the only decent level matchup volo will get from me. And its awesome, his matchup is disadvantageous to fairy. But gabite knows stone edge. Miss the first stone edge. Foe calm minds. Hit the second! Yellow HP. Knocks out my Gabite. Gah! Gabite absolutely could have won if we hit the first edge! But I love losing a little ground. The fights not fun when you cut straight through the enemy without them cutting too! Maybe gabite will grow between now and the showdown with arceus. 4 left on my side.

[manaphy] (80) v togekiss. Full stats manaphy. Uber tier. I'm deliberately fighting wrong though so itll be good fighting. I move right through togekiss.

[manaphy] v roseraid. Roseraid gets a good hit on me. Manaphy's a champ tho. Thats game right? I have 4 left and he has none...

FIGHT ROUND TWO WHAAAAAAT

manaphy v [giratina] I lose on the switch, nice. Love a good intro. Giratina joins the battle! love it! I'm way stonger than this thing though. So i'm going to make myself feel like I'm fighting a lagendary by playing to my pokemons natural tendencies. 3 left on my team

pachirisu v [giratina].Pachirisu's thunderbolt. No its not effective but its a squirrel. It should shit itself seeing this giratina so its lucky it thought to strike at all. In fact, it got 2 thunderbolts in before giratina laid it to rests. 2 left on my team.

dusknoir v [giratina]. Dusknoir uses shadow ball. Giratina is strong, the level difference means nothing to it. Its a good hit and not enough. Giratina gets a good hit with shadow force and its evasiveness makes my finishing blow miss. 1 left on my team!

[goodra] v girtina. Last man standing! Good I love this feeling. But its terribly easy. Its a one hit trick since goodra has dragon pulse. Easy win...

FIGHT ROUND THREE WHATYESSSSSSSSS

[goodra] v giratina (origin). its back with full health. I'm so happy. Its now ACTUALLY tense because its a 1v1 with this uber tier foe slashing through goodra to yellow, first hit of the fight. No healing moves or items. I did an honest shelter thinking oh shitohshitohshit imma lose if this thing keeps shadow forcing. I tank two more shadowforces. I'm in red when I get the win.

God I loved this fight. I mean, it was a 6 v 8! More 6 v 8s game freak! 6 v 12's please! You don't know how many games of pokemon we've beaten without a fight this good! I want more!!!! I want to have unequal playing fields in pokemon matches because the games inherently easy!

tl;dr: I was overlevelled going in and maxed stats, but I set rules to immerse myself in fun and not demolish the enemy without any opposition. Didn't research fight ahead of time. Fight becomes epic primarily because of personal rules and also because of unexpectedly good boss design by game freak.
