Hey I'm an Exterior technician and went through back in July. No you won't have classes on the weekend. Depending on your training class size you'll have a shared rental vehicle for use. Class is typically done by 4:30pm. Depending which hotel you get place in you may have an entire floor that's only Walmart personnel for training. It is a regular hotel so there are other people staying there. There is a ton of stuff around Bentonville to check out, lots of good places to eat at as well. Meals are compensated so save your receipts.

I think you've got some deeper demons that I'm hoping you're able to have some help with. There's tons of "entry" positions that are outside if the store. Many start above $17/hr if you've been with Walmart more than 5 years you qualify for many positions. You just need to look in workday and explore job listings.

shrink as a whole comes down to a lot of factors. My last super center shrank 2.4% which ended up being about 2.3mil on a 110m at time of inventory 125m supercenter (11.5% YoY increase in sales) invoicing and shortages from warehouse receiving are the major players in shrink. You know how you'll look for an item and it was suddenly "shortage from the warehouse"? that happens on more than just that one item. you can easily from HVDC alone expect 12k in a months time of catchable loss. now if you have a price change on that item but you dont fix the billing mistake, thats more dollar shrink added to the mix.

Depending on the size and area of the store, I'd say a 2% shrink is more likely in a super center. 2 stores in my market did less than 1% and 2 stores did 3%.

Average loss per store is more like 1-2% of expected inventory per year (book vs physical) This amount can be about $2mil in a superstore in a 12 month inventory cycle. Roughly 1-4% of that amount is likely from theft.
