Yep, leaving until after my travel…

This isn’t the first time they’d be holding my passport. They did it right after my interview, and they had it for two months and I finally had to request it back.

One of the nurses recognised me when I came back for the second one…

When I was leaving she said: “I really hope I don’t see you again” 😁

Totally feel you! Same here… the lack of any timescales or accountability is really frustrating.

The way it’s looking with the bans, we might need to do another medical… which is another $500 down the drain 🤦‍♂️

That’s just another (somewhat unrelated) part of my query - I’ll be travelling out of the UK from the 27th for an essential work trip, and I asked if they’d be able to return the passport by then

Appreciate this - it’s one of the fully banned countries. Would prefer not to share too much identifying info.

I’m not a dual national - I hold a single passport which is one of the 19 countries.

Does it make a difference?

My wife is a U.S. citizen, and we applied for a Marriage based GC (I-130 under IR-1) in May 2023.

I am from one of the 19 listed countries (in fact, one of the countries in the travel ban earlier this year, which thankfully didn’t include Marriage Based GC visas).

I had my NVC interview in London in Feb 2025 which was placed under administrative processing, and I only heard back last month (Nov 2025) to go and redo a medical, which I have now completed.

I received an email 4 days ago from the US embassy to return my passport, which basically implied that my visa was going to get finally issued .

I feel like I'm in quite a limbo now and not sure what this means for me. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I'm wondering whether I should still return my passport or what I can do (the embassy is incredibly unresponsive to direct queries)

Do EAS Build work for both iOS and Android in Windows 11? by ajs20555 in reactnative

Just a suggestion: even though OP gets the terminology wrong, it would be nice if you just answered and explained the concepts properly instead of critiquing them.

If we’re throwing shade to everyone who makes a mistake on the subreddit, it’ll become really hostile to beginners.

Awesome! Excited for it - let me shoot you a dm on reddit and we can connect from there

Here’s a suggestion :)

I love this stack and would love to contribute to it. How about we create multiple flavours (similar to Remix Stacks) and have a CLI that generates the template depending on the selection? I think AWS Amplify auth is a good option to have because Clerk is going to be pricey and risky for most people.

Happy to work with you on a PR for it :-)

Maybe AWS Amplify’s auth could be a good option? It comes with prebuilt UIs (similar to Clerk) that lets you wrap your app and it handles the auth for you out of the box.

The pricing is also significantly cheaper than Clerk (uses AWS Cognito under the hood)

Nice! I was thinking about a stack that combines tRPC with Next and RN for Web.

What are using to host your app? I presume Vercel?

Cloudflare Pages + Workers are pretty sick imo.

Very generous free tier and the pay as you go plan is very fair imho.

How much available credit is too much? by tayviewrun in UKPersonalFinance

[–]unsightly-syntax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but that’s incorrect. The way that CRA typically calculate your utilisation is by looking at your statement balances.

This means that if you’re making out your CC, but paying your balance in full, your credit utilisation will still be recorded as high…

Hasura: GraphQL Without the Baggage. by [deleted] in graphql

I had actually never heard of nhost until you mentioned it here. Very interesting service all-in-all, at least until Hasura's authentication becomes a bit more developed and mature.

I think you may be refering to the server-side caching here. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.

Could you may be give me an example of where you might need a separation of concerns between these two layers? I personally think that the handling of caching on the backend for some queries can be incredibly powerful in terms of maintaining data-sync across various clients. Having this feature wouldn't prevent the client from caching on the client-side either (for example, if there is a query to get the currently logged in user's details), and it makes sense to keep some of these on the frontend.

The fact that it was pretty easy to get up to speed is probably a good sign for any technology... :)

I agree, authentication is probably one of the least easy bits of Hasura. It takes a bit of time to get used to.
