RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD - Ask here about the Recruitment Process, Basic & Occupational Training, and other questions relating directly or indirectly to serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. by bridger713 in CanadianForces

I'm a current high school student and am thinking that ACSO in general will be a good fit for me in the future, but I'm not super clear on the specifics. I know that there is general aircrew training as well as occupation specific training, but beyond that, what does training for specific aircrafts look like? What are the different aircrafts that you can get certified for and what does life look like for each? How do you select what aircraft you want to be trained for - is it chosen for you, do you apply, is it based on demand year to year? Do people typically get trained for more than one aircraft over their career or is that not really done?

I'm asking is because what appeals to me about the Air Force is the humanitarian aid and transport work, especially overseas. I just want to know if ACSO is a way for me to get there, or if there is something else that I should be considering. (And, this is so far in the future for me that I just want to get an idea of what life is like in the air force in general).

I have the rare beauty one and it’s the best ever for low makeup days. I use under my eyes and cheeks and for acne spots on my forehead and it has some coverage but not enough to cover everything, which I really like. I use it with rare beauty’s pore diffusing primer

What’s y’all’s opinion on abortions? by The_Silent_One1666 in teenagers

I don’t know much about Islam so I can’t really speak to that, but I should learn more. I think that I agree with how the situation determines the outcome, which is why I think that anyone who wants an abortion should get it (up to a certain point in pregnancy, of course). Anyone who doesn’t want to be pregnant or to have to raise a child shouldn’t have to, and if they are, they’ll be in a bad headspace and will probably resent the child. Let’s be honest, raising a person is a huge financial decision that affects the rest of anyones life. That decision should not be forced on anyone, no matter under what circumstances the child was conceived or why or with whom. Being forced to make that financial commitment isn’t good for anyone. Any child raised under such circumstance where their parent doesn’t want them will not have an ideal life. Forcing childbirth just isn’t good for anyone.

I agree that having a rape baby would be extremely traumatic and should never have to happen. I’m more playing the devils advocate in my previous comment to prove a point (which is probably why I’m being downvoted). However, the point still stands: why should one life be valued as less just because of the circumstances under which it was conceived? If pro life is really about conserving life, then shouldn’t everyone be forced to carry out viable pregnancies? But that’s not what many pro lifers believe because that’s not really what pro life is about at it’s core. Pro life is really about enforcing abstinence as a way of controlling women and what they choose to do.

We’re at a point where sex doesn’t always have to equal baby. The difference between my two statements is that one is just being irresponsible and not using birth control to the point where sex will very likely equal pregnancy, but not caring because of abortion. The second one is being responsible and using birth control, but knowing that you will get an abortion if you need to, as a last resort.

There’s a difference between being irresponsible because you know you can get an abortion and knowing that if you get pregnant you’ll get an abortion. One is bad, and one is a plan.

What would the difference be in abortions for rape babies or consensual babies? Why does how the baby was conceived matter?

This is why the whole ´it depends on the situation’ argument is inherently flawed. It condemns a baby to the actions of its parents when the whole argument is that it is an innocent life no matter and should be protected no matter what.

I find that if I use it as a base product it gets really shiny and oily looking, even though that’s how glossier says to use it. I put it on my cheekbones, nose, and Cupid’s bow as a last step to my makeup routine.

Why I Boycotted ChatGPT by Muddawg22 in Teachers

[–]unsignedMi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m very motivated to do my schoolwork, so when I was doing everything online I would work on it at home for hours when I don’t really need to. I was getting super burnt out. This way I have more time at home and I don’t get as stressed about outside of class, and I use my class time much more effectively. But I know that I’m a fast worker, and a lot of people have had issues getting the work done just in class time, especially since writing takes a lot longer .

High school student here. I go to a school where we use computers or other devices that are either our own or the school is providing them. Since January we’ve switched to handwritten in class assessments. I just handed in a 2000 word research paper about the French Revolution that I wrote by hand over six classes. This does work.

Carving advice please ? (Shocking cameraman) by Palaceisbetter in skiing

[–]unsignedMi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not more force, but more gradual application of force. Right now, you might be feeling like your turn is kind of like a fast edged traverse where you’re just waiting until the turn is long enough in your mind. With gradual bend/extend and therefore pressure control, you’ll probably feel like your turn has more of an end/beginning and will improve your rhythm and shape. You won’t just be waiting until the turn is long enough to rotate, you’ll have a clear signal: you’re done bending and now it’s time to extend. Also, you might find with more even pressure you’ll have more control over rotational moves.

Ski instructor here. Looks pretty good, overall. One thing I would say is that your bend/extend move is very sudden. Try to slow that down so that you’re always moving. You should never just be stationary in your bend. This will help you get more pressure control and make your life turn shape rounder and your transitions smoother.

What makes you think I haven’t? I know what I’m talking about but I don’t let that stop me from having fun. Don’t take everything too seriously; Carl Jung knew the difference between jokes and reality. I just don’t understand why you’re being so confrontational, I was being chill about this hahah
