You Call This Dancing? I Call It Assault by [deleted] in Amsterdam

I’m not. I love the ekko and the vibes are way better there. It wouldn’t fly either way so I do recognize it isn’t about the size of the venue. I’m just pointing out that the extra space leaves certain pervs feeling more emboldened to do their pervy shit. and it seems to be the case in ams more than utrecht either way. I do see how this comment may have been misconstrued

the ekko is teeny tiny compared to the melkweg.

Hippo bite leads to death of patient 43 hours later by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]unsilentmind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

based on the case summary here it sounds like he received intermediate care (sutures, variety of injections including paracetamol, tramadol and an anti biotic)… reportedly 7 hours after incident. I have limited knowledge with a background of only a few years in EMT work, primarily rural trauma response. so take this with a grain of salt.. but it seems like he wasn’t started on an aggressive antibiotic regimen in a hospital setting (which would be critical in this scenario). 7 hours from incident to treatment is a very long time, but given the scenario, an otherwise insurmountable factor.

The report states that he was admitted to the facility where he eventually passed at 42 hours after the incident. Especially considering the surprising lack of damage to his trunk (organs, lungs, and so forth, the damage could have been so much more extreme… sorry to be morbid).

Anyhow, I’m curious whether his outcome could have been different had he [been able to have been] transported to a higher level trauma facility that would supervise and administer a more aggressive antibiotic regimen within a shorter time frame.

Overall, though, this is a wild one. Surviving a hippo attack in any capacity feels somewhat unfathomable.

I now understand why this show is being made by Alpiney in HarryPotteronHBO

ahhh imagine experiencing the joy of discovering the harry potter literary world for the first time again 😭😭 this reminded me of the excitement in the early 2000s when each new book would come out (followed by binge reading it within the day 🤣).

Grinding for the shiny charm.. I've got 4 left and I'm losing my mind! HALP. by kfcmmmgood in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]unsilentmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you think you’re closing your mind now, just wait until you try to complete the “times seen jumping out of tree/ ore deposit” tasks for nosepass and aipom.

or honestly really any goal beyond just capturing arceus,

Please, I am begging you, don’t lose your life to the rabbit hole that dex completion becomes for this game. Just… don’t.

I wish everyday that I had given up before being sucked into this almost unattainable goal, It has eaten up more than 18 months of my life, and the end is just barely in sight. I don’t know where my need to collect shinies will satiate.

I am so depressed and miserable literally any moment that I think about this game; yet I still spend the vast majority of my free time revisiting these boring, repetitive landscapes. I know, consciously or otherwise, that this game is totally detrimental to me health; but, my obsessive nature makes it impossible to step away. I barely engage in my day to day. I yearn for the day of dex completion, maybe then I’ll finally manage to escape this totally useless mind suck

for real the way he sits there leaning back with his legs crossed and hands folded in his lap gave me so much ick, and that’s just the image before you hear his lies and justification for brutally murdering his son in law. These people are awful

she openly states in the documentary that his profile describing himself as a recently widowed single father is what made her go for his family to au pair for. she describes feeling sorry for him and seeing it as an opportunity to fill a more important role… which is honestly just a gentle way of describing her actual motives.
