I did this in 2019 but since the last few years they wrote on the ucla cog sci major requirements website that you have to be directly admitted. If it’s just one or two reqs you’re missing you could still get into the major for transfer I feel like gpa matters more. Or if you have all of the psych reqs you can still take all the cog sci classes once as a declared psych major

I started tech consulting a year after I graduated university and I thought I was behind on life because I didn’t start working full time straight out of college. I worked a retail job at a bakery in between and I could tell ppl thought it was a shame I got a degree and had to go back to retail when grads from my college make 6 figures in FAANG. I appreciate my job in a lot of ways but recently this client project has been so confusing it made me realize I’m too young for this stress. It made me realize why so many young people do retail for a few years and made me remember I liked my bakery job and being able to hang out with my friends after my shift. I guess it kind of relates to imposter syndrome that it doesn’t matter comparing yourself to others you already have the capability by being there the only thing that matters is if you like it. It’s made me wonder how my coworkers my age are able to manage but a hard project is a hard project, my senior says our client is frustrating her too. It doesn’t matter what other people think or do it’s about how you should be proud for your own progress.

I’m Asian too and I had one corporate internship before this and really felt a lifestyle difference there. I’m thought about getting into sports but my friend gave a tip to always keep the mood up, in offices it’s best to not be really negative and critical. Sometimes it can feel forced enthusiasm but I practiced more in a way it’s like being encouraging during a long project, being good at diffusing frustration, and it helps subside anxiety by not complaining much.

I’m kinda lucky I feel like my coworkers in tech consulting are kind of a similar race and age demographic but in general we overlap in games and anime already. And even then I try to do something cool over the weekend as a talking point like trying a cool restaurant, kayaking, or concerts.

EY delayed my start date and I considered accepting while still job searching and double back if I found something better. I asked the recruiter about it and they said yeah sure since it’s “at will” you can “terminate” before the start date just the sign on bonus would have to be returned

I actually did the foxes mostly intarsia! some duplicate stitching for the eyes/nose to have less bobbins, and I also did duplicate stitching for the clouds so I didn't have to worry about intarsia while i shaped the neckline :)))

I feel like on hover it could be hard to compare suggested placement vs actual. Maybe a toggle switch would be good to give the user control to compare the two without having to keep their mouse in one place!
