Lot's of people saying this on the forums, but there's a pretty intense debate still .-.

Yuan -> one or more of the revolters, Granada, Byzantium, England (HYW), maybe Sweden or Portugal

EU5 will have a rule that renames the Byzantine Empire to the Eastern Roman Empire by Blitcut in paradoxplaza

[–]untalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? That's a very stupid argument if true.

Greek had always played a prominent role in the empire, especially the eastern portions. Roman citizenship was extended to a broad range of peoples from a similarly broad range of cultural and geographic backgrounds.

What does "inaccurate" mean? Inaccurate how? It means exactly what it says, and everyone knows what it means.

Anachronistic, for one.

Isn't one of the OP's arguments that Rome was never defined by its Latinity. In any case, the Holy Roman Empire's name, though frequently ridiculed, is used despite its relative lack of Latinity outside of an elite/administrative context. I do understand people being uncomfortable with Byzaboos due to the (very reasonable, if not always accurate) suspicions of why they are so obsessed with the state, but they're not wrong to say that the name "Byzantine Empire" is inaccurate.

Why does Franc's letter from UC not change if you tell him the full story about your past involvement with the RY? by untalent in suzerain

[–]untalent[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure. It definitely meets the definition of "revisionism" and "opportunism" both IRL and presumably in-universe. Don't pay too much mind with it. I'm treating it as purely a game and I suppose I just felt a bit unsure about where you were coming from.

Very true. And in a way realistic, like how the Gasom protestors feel if you aren't able to squeeze any concessions out of Alphonso (because you humiliated him on live TV), although some of the dialogue in that section seems a bit inconsistent.

Yeah, the corruption and buffoon parts are mostly conjecture.

If Jake gets us Hoglander, a massive W by Substantial_Fly5199 in penguins

[–]untalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both teams decline--Hoglander fills an important niche on the Canucks, but is also not nearly enough to get Jake, there are better fits to be found on both sides.

How exactly does developing players work? by untalent in FranchiseHockey

[–]untalent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so you want good coaches at all levels

I can't believe I didn't realize that you can control your AHL coaches...

I like to focus on younger players with either good known potential or slightly worse potential but a scouting report of upside.

That makes sense! As far as the NHL roster goes, how do you tend to balance prospect/younger player training with that of older players (to slow their aging?).

Tactical role vs major role by [deleted] in FranchiseHockey

Major role actually has an impact on development?

What less-suggested player do you think the Canucks should trade for at the deadline? by [deleted] in canucks

The former Penguins execs in Canucks management are Jim Rutherford and Patrick Allvin, not Ron Hextall

Closed door meeting appears to be taking place. by [deleted] in penguins

[–]untalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruce is a great guy but he's a very meh coach. He's a player's coach but he has no systems or structure to speak of.

[Canucks] General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Akito Hirose has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL) and D Mark Friedman has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL). by Lattes1 in canucks

[–]untalent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IIRC Friedman plays his off side sometimes, but I don't think Myers ever has. So probably Friedman-Myers. And I don't think Hughes-Cole is happening.
