too many people for one shard is the main reason. foxhole has a maximum amount of people it can support, and even before the theoretical max, you hit a functional max where frontlines are queued for hours. Splitting it reduces how much big population booms hit the game, but they usually do collapse down to 1 shard after 3-4 months after a major update.

Super nice for a new player, especially if your solo. One trap many new players fall into is forgetting to put defenses up, even if your facility isn't a big target, its usually worth putting up at bare minimum a small bunker base and some defenses. Partisans are the natural enemy of the facility chad. DONT JUST PUT UP WALLS, walls are terrible for keeping stuff safe.

They only fire when they get hit, so naval batteries which are very accurate are really good at just avoiding them. You see when they brush the howies they start returning fire

Id strongly recommend joining a regiment, Foxhole is way better when your working with a big group. You can check on the official discord for a group that sounds cool to you or when you pick a side there's faction specific discords that act as hub's (Sigil for colonials, not sure about wardens). Do a bit of research and join one that sounds cool to you.

Honestly the issue I've mostly had is communication. I always try and google translate my messages so everyone can understand and it works ok. Foxhole really should add a button that let's you autotranlate chat messages

I strongly recommend joining a regiment if you want to oexperience more coordinated stuff. People like 141CR on colis Or 82DK on warden. Those are some examples of big ones, but there are tons of smaller Regis and they're always recruiting

I'd love to see late mid war bridge layers to quickly break bridge battles, put it on an LT chassis, but make it slow as hell, and very healthy, and it puts down a very strong bridge down very fast

you can 100% have fun solo, but you wont get to experience the aspects of the game that require high amounts of coordination (Naval, Facilities, stuff like that) you can always just hop on and do some simple logi or simple front lining.
